Devastation 'overwhelming'

Jeff Parish President. Residents will probably be allowed back in town in a week, with identification only, but only to get essentials and clothing. You will then be asked to leave and not come back for one month.

Nobody knows right now, but they can't live in New Orleans anytime soon.

That is horrible!!! I feel so bad for all of them, and all those who lost their loved ones.

J, afraid things will get worst before they get better. Very sad and tragic.

On a side note, I just can't watch another video of looters. Not sure why looters upset me so, but that behavior pushes all my buttons.

I seldom use the word evil, and won't now, but looting is kicking people whilst they are down and that is just about as mean as one can get! Its taking advantage of someone during a crisis.

I had a nightmare about this picture last night - it was the last thing I saw before going to bed, which is probably why. Basically I was there and it was not pleasant - and this was just my imagination, the reality is unimaginable.

A, I got the first news this morning on the houses of my inlaws in the area. Their houses are missing roofs. Insides exposed to the elements and it will be more than a month before they will able to t return to do anything about it.

I've never seen anything like this--tragic.

the whole thing is crazy. My grandparents are in Mississippi and no one can get ahold of them so my Uncle is driving down to see if he can find them.

Linny, I'm so sorry to hear that. Godspeed and please keep us updated.

Linny, equally sorry to hear you are going through this worry - hope you hear only good news.

Trée, very tragic indeed - sorry to hear about the problems your in-laws are suffering! One can only be thankful for the fact that those things lost are replacable.
