A Coat of Dust

I have a metal and glass desk
the glass always has dust
just like now

I stare at the dust
and I wonder
is this what they will see

a laptop closed
a few pens scattered
and a light coat of dust

the vision is clear
there is no doubt
I have seen the future

a few (uncomfortable) mumbles
a bit of (awkward) staring
and a light coat of dust

that’s how it will be

A classic formation, a nice orderliness, symmetry, which corresponds to the content, not in the scattering itself but in the standard habit of it so to speak, there always being dust, always pens, always the laptop. A still scene that could be returned to at any moment. Like a picture, or rather a title, without a story. Not one that can be read, but suggestive, in those instruments, i.e. just as you have envisioned the future, to look at the scene would envision the past. The body without the soul.
Wonderful piece of writing. Will return when I am more awake to tell you so better. :-D
