Donuts

How do you see? With your eyes. Perhaps your mind does the seeing or at times maybe your heart. Do you know who processes your data before you call it your own.

I sit down to breakfast and open my box of donuts. Before me in a single carton are four white powdered donuts, four chocolate covered and four plain cake-like ones. The morning is still, quiet with suspense as the opening prologue of cardinal chatter dancing within my ears reminds me I'm not alone.

I look at my donuts. No arguments, no fights, no yelling about who is the better donut or why this group is in front of that group. No posturing of the powdered group to be picked ahead of the plain group. Just donuts. Even breakfast greets me with wisdom for the day. I marvel at the blessed teachers in my life. Today, I shall live like my donuts. In peace and harmony with all around me and a love that remembers the bond between us all.

Only you would find wisdom in a box of doughnuts :-) - Perfect!

ROTFLMAO, I think they found me sunshine. A clarion call to the Apollonian and Dionysian divide within us all. :-)

Peace and love to you my eternal ray of warmth and brightness in a world of grey and mist and fog.

Are you still jet-lagged from our trip to feudal Japan?

Just in case George drops by:

So Zing Tao to you, baby!

Haha, it delights me so to use my new favorite phrase. Kudos to you my friend. :-)

The pic reminds me of trumpets.

And your words make me hungry! I need to go buy a donut or something now!

Trée said...

Ciera, maybe I should get kickbacks from each donut purchase today. :-)

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

Anonymous said...

I had a good day.

nd you should get kickbacks! LOL! I'm off now to get one!

"in a world of grey and mist and fog" I'm going to send you a pair of my special glasses - one can see straight through even the most dense fog and everything becomes technicoloured ;-)
No jet-lag, I'm an excellent traveller :-)

Trée said...

Ciera, tell them I sent you. :-)

A, have you put your xmas tree up yet?

Mind if I steal a donut? :D

I like the plain cake donuts.

If you keep writing like this, i will have no choice but to keep visiting you ;-)

I love Lance Armstrong. He is so amazing almost like a super human. His book is lying on my table "Its not about the bike"..an incredible story. Its amazing how he cured himself. I hope to do that too.

And Tree, i have never tasted such delicious doughnuts before especially ones which are powdered with simplicity, security and eternal bliss.

Thanks i enjoyed the breakfast sooo much :-)

Sherri, by all means help yourself. How are you feeling after all those rum and cokes on an empty stomach? I think a few donuts will do you much good. :-D

anu, this is the best of the Armstrong books and I've read them all. When you say "I hope to do that too" do you mean to say you are also fighting cancer yourself? If so, please tell me more. We have a wonderful group of very compassionate bloggers who visit here that all have a very strong interest in supporting those in this fight.

Feeling much better. Now it's time to join the world again and drop the walking zombie look I've been sporting all morning. I can't be positive, but I think my 3 year old recoiled in fear when I first came down the stairs. LOL

Tree, i have been diagnosed with chronic renal failure two years back and i am on dialysis. I am in my late twenties and work here in Bombay (India) in a company in the risk management department.

I am working on myself and i want to cure / heal myself.

My doctors say this is an incurable disease and that i may not live for too long.

But that is their opinion. It does not bother me much. I draw, paint, travel and learn martial arts.

Maybe i do heal myself or maybe i dont. But either ways, i hope to learn a few lessons from this experience :)and make my existence on this planet worthwhile :)

Sherri, take a couple extra donuts. You can repay me later. :-)

anu, I am deeply sorry to hear of your condition. I admire the attitude you've taken. Sounds like you have a wonderful head and heart, now if we can only get the kidneys to behave. Thanks so much for sharing your personal story. You will be in my thoughts and prayers and I do believe in miracles and the power of the mind and heart to heal things doctors can't.

Your life situation I believe will allow you to see and feel things the rest of us can't or don't. I hope over time you will share your wisdom and insights that this path is taking you down. You seem like such a bright and energetic spirit and perhaps your mission is one of mercy and love for all you come in contact. My sense is you provide much inspiration to those near you with the broadness of your perspective. Hugs and kisses my dear. As I said before, you will always have a home around here and there are many kind and caring souls that frequent this site.

Not yet, not until December.
:-)Why?

Tradition in the States is to put the tree up the day after Thanksgiving. We're putting our's up now. Just thought you might be doing the same. I would love to see you do a painting of your tree. I think that would be fabulous to see. :-)

Thanks Dearest Tree :)

You are so sweet to me and your words are very kind and comforting.

Incidently the word verification i have to type down here is "xljoy"
which brought a huge grin on my face :-)

Quoting from your post Tree - "I marvel at the best teachers in my life" :-)

anu, I too firmly believe in the power of will, hope and faith, all of which you seem to have in abundance. Wishing you fortune and happiness!

Thanks sweetie :) autumn storm

:-) I'd already thought of that - kind of addicted to this painting lark now. So long as it doesn't look like a blob, I'll show it.

Singing carols, I hope, as you decorate, its a must :-)

Trée said...

"xljoy"

anu, must be a sign from a higher power. :-)

Trée said...

A, your last painting was fabulous. I would love to see you do more.

Anonymous said...

Trée, excellent, I love the way you look at the world :0)

Anonymous said...

you eat donuts for breakfast?!

Anonymous said...

:-) So kind.

Trée said...

Lisa, not so loud. I don't want everyone to know I've eaten a donut or two. :-)

Trée said...

Thanks Trace. Now go finish your shopping. :-)

Trée said...

A, you make it easy.

Trée said...

You know, these donuts are starting to look an awful lot like baseballs.

Trée said...

Does anyone else see the teardrops in the donut holes? We all cry the same, all bleed when cut regardless of the color of our skin. Mmm . . .

Anonymous said...

What an insightful thing to say Tree.

"We all cry the same, all bleed when cut regardless of the color of our skin"

The Birds, oceans and winds do not have any boundaries. Boundaries are perhaps only for the more intelligent creatures called man...wonder what we have acheived being men!

Hugs n kisses Tree

Mornin' Anu! Did you dream of fairies and angels and knights?

Boundaries are, as you say, man-made. I choose not to buy such artifical understandings of what is this and what is that.

When my son was born, I look up in the sky, spotted the brightest star (Sirius) and named it Christopher. To this day, the brightest star in the heavens is to me the Christopher star. :-)

Morning dear.

Anonymous said...

:) Good morning dearest Tree.

I did not dream much about fairies, angels and knights but surely dreamt about mosquitoes as they bit me whole night.

I have seen Christopher, No 32 at the game, in your very first post.
Your love a lot, dont you.

I have recieved a gift today - another beautiful day :) Did some breathing exercises (yoga) and now i am hearing the birds chirping :)

The whole world wakes up in the morning, how amazing is that.

And i am not going to read your new post as i dont want to exhaust it all now. I to retain that bit of surprise for latter in the day.

:)You are so warm and nice to me, thank you Tree

Trée said...

Anu, the warmth you feel is me reflecting back the love from your own soul. Takes two to tango, and here, I follow your lead dear sweet woman. Good morning to you. :-)

Anonymous said...

'You love a lot, dont you' - was meant to be 'You love him a lot, dont you'.

But arent the words which flow inadvertently are generally the words of the soul?

Trée said...

Anu, I wish I was there to hug you right now. I sense a very special soul resides in your body, a soul both rare and unique. Burn bright with life my friend. No one knows what tomorrow will bring. Hugs and kisses back at ya. :-)

Anonymous said...

This is an amazing graphic! I love the depth, colours and textures. It reminds me more of coins than doughnuts though. Keep them coming!

Anonymous said...

Hug by all means :-)

Its been a long time since i have been hugged.

((((((((((Tree))))))))))

Trée said...

Thanks for those warm words of encouragement dzeni. I'm working hard to produce two or three of these creations a day. Glad you liked this one. :-)

Trée said...

Anu, sending a long distance hug your way.

((((((((((hug))))))))))

No reason not to have daily hugs as a part of life. If in need just come here. I have a lot saved up and ready for distribution. :-)

Anonymous said...

mmmm....nothing like a nice warm love filled hug powdered with positive energy the first thing on this bright sunday morning Tree.

Thank you so much :)

I was so captivated by your words that, the 'hug' is the first story of my day.

Again, Quoting from your post Tree for the second time - "I marvel at the best teachers in my life" :-)

Trée said...

Anu, a single hug embodies the teaching of a thousand masters from east and west. Words are cheap. Always discount a persons words unless backed my action. Give me a single heartfelt hug over ten thousand words. No doubt in my mind.

In the immortal words of Homer Simpson: "Mmmmm, donuts....*drool*"

I like this reminder of humility, harmony and happiness. Thanks.

Thank you Paul. I'm looking forward to your reports on living off the grid. Not sure I would have the guts to do that so I plan on living vicariously through you and your writings.
