162. Calfuray

“Shen, it appears we have visitors,” said The Voice. Your little project continues to irritate the hellocks out of my dry skin. Do you know what it is like to have an itch but no means to scratch it?”

“No my lord,” replied Shen.

"Fail me on this mission and I will personally make sure you have the opportunity. Is that clear?”

“Yes my lord.”

“Give the assignment to Calfuray. She has my confidence. And Shen? I expect to hear no more of this. Is that understood?”

“Yes my lord.”

Ummmm.... YES! I'm at work, gee whiz, I have to focus on work. ;-)

Brilliant writing, all the posts! I'm really loving the story more than ever with the romance and love mixed in. That's what life is all about.

*HUUUGS* to you and Jack, you both did well ;-)

And again :-) Short, but complete. Anticipating more on Calfuray and why she inspires such confidence.
Good post!!!

Meg, are you saying the earlier chapters were not inspired? :-D

Just teasing. I do appreciate your kind words and it makes me very happy to know you are enjoying the latest series in the story. I'll do my best to keep it going. :-)

Thanks Sunshine. :-)

Sometimes shorter is better. I do like the change of pace--couple longer chapters and then a couple shorter ones. Makes for quick easy reading while still opening up the imagination as to what is happening. These last two hark back to the early days when the chapter was based on the image first, which is the case with this one and the one below, and to Dr. Goldenhair too.

Good to see you again Karen. I hope the story is scratching an itch or two in your imagination. :-)

Jack and I, or maybe just Jack, has been having a lot of fun with the last few chapters. I might let him write a few more. :-D

As always, your kind words are very much appreciated. Hugs from Jack especially. :-)

I'm trying to figure out a way I can compile all the archives, print them and take them to work with me this weekend to read while I sunbake. I can't stand being uninformed.

Bean, one of these days I'm going to copy all the chapters into a single Word doc just for that purpose. Of course, you would miss out on the images and I do have several audio pieces sprinkled throughout the story that you would miss.

I would suggest clicking on the "Story" category at the bottom of any post. That will take you to my del.icio.us listing of each and every chapter, which should make it a little easier to start from the beginning.

I'm so excited to have another interested reader. The story didn't start as a story but as a single post--Caribbean Canopy--and it just kinda sorta kept growing. Whenever I stopped, a few loyal readers threatened me if I didn't start again and now we have over 160 postings with 185 or so unique images all created just for the story.

I think you will also see the writing get better and the characters start to fill out as the story progresses. I'm not a writer by trade and this story is the first thing I've written of this nature so forgive me for learning on the job. I feel like I'm getting better and I'm working hard to learn how to improve my writing. Again, thanks so much for stopping by and if you have any questions about the characters or the story, don't be afraid to ask. And don't be surprised if someone other than me answers those questions. :-)

kal-foo-RAW-ee - I'd never have guessed :-)

Evening, sweetheart, hope your day has been sweet and joyful, x

Morning Sweetest Sunshine. My day has been filled with song and women but at last, no wine. :-D

Still, so much to be grateful. Perhaps I should play a little Natalie Merchant. ;-)

Did you enjoy the serenade from Poppet this morning? He was so excited thinking about you waking up and opening your mail. I told him we had to go to bed but he insisted on staying up like a child on xmas eve. :-)

Aw bless. Sweet Poppet, so full of such endearing qualities.

I did so much so, I think my heart turned over. :-D
Such a lovely way to start my day, sets me up for one where everything has just that extra touch of radiance because it began with a smile.
Sweet dreams, x

Thanks Trée :) I'm not surprised you've been threatened for attempting to stop.. this story is going places!

It's so hard to believe this is your first story. It's so amazingly good. I've loved all the posts I've read so far and I'm really looking forward to catching up, so I can be one of these people who knows all about it.

Sunshine, I meant every word of that song. My debt of gratitude grows by the day, but I think you're going to have to come in person to collect. :-D

Bean, have you been taking classes on just what to say? Flattery will get you everywhere on this blog and is highly encouraged. :-D

Of course I love your writing but I like the way Jack is getting his... ummm... hands in this too. You two make a great team!

Trée said...

I couldn't do it without him. And he always has so much energy for the job at hand. You should see how fast he works too. A real professional. :-D

'tis such a lovely song too, have heard it many times since.

So funny, funny weird, not funny haha, to read those words. Omelettes got me thinking this morning, once again!, of all the many, many smiles you pass my way and how even if I were to concentrate on nothing but doing the same, I'd still never be able to catch up.
Beautiful soul full of goodness.

Well, Poppet would say, you better get to trying to catch up. :-D

Rog would say, "Bend over and we'll call it even." :-D
