Resistance is Futile

While our heels dig deeper into the past, the future plays tug-o-war tearing the present apart. Just be.

Try as I might, this image refused to transfer to blogger in anything less than a fuzzy state. Blogger remains a mystery to me as to how they handle their pics.

If you look at the pic below this one, blogger kept the original png format and the pic is fairly sharp and true to the original. This pic, for whatever reason, blogger decided to convert to jpg and fuzzed that dang thing up. Several attempts have all been futile.

So, I bow to the gods at blogger and I lay down my resistance. You guys win this one. I'm done--lol.

Next time you guys come over my house, I'll show you what this image is suppose to look like. Fridge is stocked so hurry over. Besides, I need some help with painting tomorrow. :-)

Ahh, Trace, I see you caught the "Just Be" before I edited it out. Felt it was a little preachy, which is why it's gone. Still, Just Be is a notion that brings me a lot of peace. When I can remember life is not all about doing. Do, do, do. Where does it stop. Too much do, too little be. Not good for the soul. :-)

Too much do, too little be

well said :0)

and personally I think you should have left it there :0)

Anonymous said...

watcha painting Trée? :0)

Trée said...

Okay, I'll put it back. :-)

Front to the house.

Trée said...

There, see how coachable I am. lol

Anonymous said...

well I was going to say agreeable :0) coachable works :0)

Front to the house

front of what to the house :0)

See, there is an example of what I was talking about on Terry's site the other day about typing words other than what I meant. Ha! I've got proof now. I was trying to say "of" as in front of the house. :-)

Anonymous said...

LOL, just givin ya a hard time sweetie, actually made me laugh out loud :0) its the way I type half the time :0)

The words just ain't there tonight. I've rewritten the blurb for this image a half dozen times and it still ain't right. Mmm . . .

Then again, since blogger refused to cooperate on a clean image, I suppose less than clean prose kinda fits.

See how easy it is to justify just about anything. lol

I used to give a talk where I used the image of an anchor as our past. The anchor "our past" had a rope that formed into a noose and as long as we held onto the past it was like putting the noose around our neck. As soon as we tried to move forward, the noose, firmly attached to the anchor behind us, would choke us and stop all meaningful forward progress. This is the long version of what I was trying to say in fewer words. Okay, I'm going to take a breath now. lol

I'll help. Spent my summers working for my father, so am well-abled with a paintbrush.

Really like the message. Have 'Let it Be' in my mind now.
Fractastic!

Oh, and good morning and thank you for the gift :-)

Anonymous said...

now that is a powerful visual, I think you captured the short version pretty well

Trée said...

Morning Sunshine. Glad you liked the gift. Didn't really cost a lot, but it's the thought that counts right? :-)

Come on over. I'll take all the help I can get tomorrow. I've got plenty of brushes and paint. It'll do your soul some good. Then after you take care of your soul, we'll work on the body a little later. I believe in balance you see. :-)

Trée said...

Thanks Trace. I like the executive summary version. The older I get, the more I just want to cut to the chase. Just say what you came to say. :-)

amen to that my dear :0)

Trée said...

So, jump in bed and take all your clothes off. Holla at me when you're ready.

Just an example. :-)

Anonymous said...

nice example, yep thats pretty much what I'm talking about ;0)

in the immortal words of Toby Keith, a little less talk and a lot more action

Trée said...

Correction:

So, jump in bed and take all your clothes off. Holla at me when you're ready. But leave the boots on.

Anonymous said...

well thats pretty much a given, and babe I'm a hollerin :0)

Anonymous said...

"A little less conversation, a little more action, please!"

I'll get my overalls - still have them here somewhere. What colour are we painting with? All painting is therapeudic, you know, but certain colours more so than others.

Trée said...

Soothing beige and tranquil green. I hope you like edible finger paint. Don't think you're gonna need those overalls.

Trée said...

Trace, you know I like a woman who can holler--lol

Anonymous said...

LOL yep thats me, ms. vocal :0)

Trée said...

Dear sweet ladies, the bed beckons for tomorrow comes early.

Ya'll just keep takin amongst yourselves. Don't mind me. :-)

good night Trée, sleep well my dear, have a great day tomorrow :0)

Edible finger paint! lol
Perfect choice of colours, on my way, minus the overall.

Sleep tight, pleasant dreams.

Thanks I needed to hear that..sigh..that darn "fear of the future hole" deal..

You have a good weekend too.

Blessings,
Rhi

Wonder what Tree is up to now, I said to myself (not even the cat is around) as I clicked my way over.

O My god! That thing has spines. It's so attractive and yet sticks my brain.
It's like peanut butter with jalapeno peppers stuck to the roof of my mouth.

I don't know whether I'm coming or going! Geez, Tree, who are you anyway?

Trée said...

Rhi, good morning dear! I hope the weather in Oregon is as good today as it is here. Many blessing to you too. Today I get to paint the front of my house. I've been blessed with this task so that I might practice "just painting." My teacher tells me I need a little more practice with "just painting." I would prefer to do what Liz calls "zen painting."

Have a weekend filled with wonder Rhi. :-)

Trée said...

Good morning George. My day always improves when you stop by for a visit. Thanks for blessing my life.

Geez, Tree, who are you anyway?

I don't know George. But I do like peanut butter and jalapenos.

A friend once told me, "don't worry about who you are, just keep lovin"

Sounded like good advice to me. ;-)

The canvas of now is waiting for the paintbrush of me to leave an entry. I should meet that appointment. :-)

Anonymous said...

good morning Trée, hope you slept well and have a great day painting :0)

We have about a half day of beautiful weather left before it rains and gets cold, hopefully yours will be better :0)

The title reminds me of the Borg from Star Trek!!!!

You're statement is so true though. Sometimes the harder we dig our heals in the harder the future tugs us on.

Trée said...

Ciera, good observation. That phase, at least in my mind, comes from that episode with the Borg. :-)

Good to see you visiting again. Have a great weekend.

Trée said...

Trace, I think the rain you are going to get today, we are going to get tomorrow.

So far, I have had many teachers visiting me with my painting, or prep to painting, this morning. I think they are going to be with me all day so I'm trying to open my ears and listen without prejudice or defensiveness.

:-)

Time to go for lesson number two. I hear the bell ringing. :-)

Anonymous said...

Trée, just stopped by to see how today's painting and lessons were progressing.....I left some refreshments in a basket on the front porch if you need a break

enjoy :0)

Trée said...

Thanks Trace. We're making good progress. Taking a short break so the refreshments were perfect. Enjoy Ringo, while I go make some more hay while the sun is shinning. :-)

I am BEing at this moment thanks to your reminder. Thanks for the fractal too. :)

Anonymous said...

Mergrl,

You can be, at least for a moment(and the moment is all there is).

Just try to remember where your feet are.

Bingo! you are being.

The trick is to do it all day. :)

Anonymous said...

Just try to remember where your feet are.
what a great wat to look at it, thanks for the thoughts :0)

Trée said...

Morning Beard. I love that advice and I've been staring at my feet all morning. :-)

**Just be..

aww how hard I try to do that...

Keshi.
