Saturday Mornings

Saturday morning
and the fields are alive
as flags wave
and soccer balls kicked

I miss those times
those memories
of early mornings
and marbled hair
eyes half open
and lips quiet

Our soccer days
are over
but the flags still wave
and the orgy of color
still swims
as I feel
a little older
a little sadder
that everything looks
brighter
driving east
and looking
west
