Apophysis: The Road Not Taken

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Robert Frost

Thanks Trace. How was your day?

Anonymous said...

long and one of those days :0)

you?

Trée said...

Well, me and women crying seem to go hand in hand these days. This one was not my fault--I swear. LOL

Tried the Bonefish Grill tonight for dinner. Food was outstanding--too good. I ate way too much and I'm paying the price of overindulgence.

awww poor baby, probably payback for making a woman cry LOL you know you can't just say that I'm not gonna touch it :P

and what did you have that has now made you miserable :0)

Anonymous said...

for dinner that is LOL

maybe you should lie down or something ;0)

Trée said...

It would be easier to tell you what I didn't have.

Lying down. Now that's something I've never had a problem doing. :-)

in my professional opinion LOL, I think you should probably remove any restrictive clothing while you are at it :0)

Trée said...

Yes ma'am. Done. Any other advice that might help my situation? I do respect your professional opinion.

Anonymous said...

LOL
hmmm I will need to better assess the situation, but I'm sure I can come up with a satisfactory course of treatment for you :0)

I'm in your hands. Be gentle or be rough but be quick. :-)

-Sigh- Robert Frost..and a beautiful looking Frosty icycle. (Did I spell that right? I'm too tired to check)

Trée said...

Icicle. Do you like icicles Holly?

Anonymous said...

well ya know, quickies are always fun :0) but I think your current condition requires more of a slow hand :0)

Trée said...

Okay. :-)

Anonymous said...

are you always so aggreable Trée?

Anonymous said...

I learned this poem the same time I memorized Thanatopsis by WC Bryant. I was 14 or 15 I think. Look up Thanatopsis. Maybe I'll post it, though it's awful morbid.
88 non-rhyming lines. That's what I remember most. That and Mr. Menton my English teacher. He was a GREAT teacher.

Ah Robert Frost. He has so many beautiful poems. Your fractal...definitely a road less traveled.

Trée said...

Always agreeable. Now aggreable; only on alternate Thursdays. ;-)

Trée said...

Aggie, there are many things I'd like to "look up" right now, but Thanatopsis ain't one of them. :-)

Anonymous said...

OK? :0)

Trée said...

It is Thursday. lol

I think my brain got fried this morning when I opened a certain file attachment, which proceeded to scorch it's image on my frontal lobe. Haven't been the same since. :-)

Anonymous said...

LOL,and that is exactly why I sent it LOL--and that of course would be my evil laugh ;0)

Every time I come here..your work seems to progress.. This one is great.
I like Robert Frost.
Seems like my whole life, I have taken the road less traveled.. and I have enjoyed every minute of it.

Anonymous said...

LOL Yeah, I suggest you leave Thanatopsis out for the night then. It doesn't match the mirrors you've tied onto your shoes.

Silly boy!

...and this comes to mind...why???

"Georgie Porgie
Puddin and pie
Kissed the girls
and made them cry"

Why were all the girls crying? Fractals and poetry is my guess.

Trée said...

Trace, does that evil grin go with the wicked smile? :-)

Trée said...

phred, I love this poem too. Thanks for your words of encouragement. Next fractal is going to be a little Halloween fun. Look for it in a bit. :-)

Anonymous said...

why that it does Trée as a matter of fact :0)

OMG, Aggie, I heard this a bizillion times growing up. I think it's time for me to go get my cowboy hat. Get those boots ready babe and dry those eyes. This is for your own good. LMAO

Trée said...

Trace, I see you've been a bad girl and it started oh so early in the morning too. I saw that innocent bambi post you made today. You're not fooling me sweetie. Come a little closer so I can put you over my knees. We'll get that wickedness spanked out of you yet young lady.

My boots are on hon. Give it your best shot. ;)
Make it quick though...I haven't got all night.

Anonymous said...

:-) Agnes' last message! lol

Fractal and poem compliment each other wonderfully, very nice. Looking forward to your halloween fractal..

I saw that innocent bambi post you made today ROFL (that needed a water alert! )

you of course are right, I have been a bad girl :0)

I do deserve whatever you have to do :0)

Trée said...

Aggie, you confound me at every turn. I am many things hon, but quick isn't one of them. Long, slow, steady, strong, passionate, and mind-blowing is in the inventory. I'll have to see if I can find some quick. LOL

Update: After looking at those boots again, I think quick could be an option. ROFL

Trée said...

Morning Sunshine. I can have the Halloween pic up "quick" if that pleases you dear. :-)

Anonymous said...

ROFL - well with my spurs on, I should think quick would be your first thought.

Save long and slow for another night. I'm mere moments from falling over.
Is it wrong if I just lay there?

Trée said...

Trace, skirt, no panties. In my office in 5. This is going to hurt me more than you. :-)

Trée said...

Oh, Trace. That would be a pleated skirt. Navy if you got it.

your wish is my command :0)

Anonymous said...

will plaid work, do you want the knee high socks and white blouse too? :0)

Trée said...

"Is it wrong if I just lay there?"

Well, that gets my second OMG of the night. Aggie, that phrase is a dead give-away for the "been married too long" syndrome.

Hey, I didn't see no spurs on those boots. Are we talkin the same boots. Cause I'm thinking you've got the indian squaw long mocs on? What were you thinking?

Trée said...

Ok, new record. My third OMG tonight.

"will plaid work, do you want the knee high socks and white blouse too?"

Two words: HELL YES. LMAO

If you can put your red locks in a ponytail, well that may just get you a little special dispensation.

Anonymous said...

Oh, well the mocs are in the closet, I've got my cowgirl boots on tonight and I've been married way too long - no damn doubt about it.

Don't you worry. My only problem is that the things I like require far more energy than I've got at the moment. LOL

You go play with the Catholic girls and I'm gonna call it a night.

Have fun kids. :)

Anonymous said...

good night Agnes, get some rest, and take care of you :0)

Trée said...

Nite Aggie. Sweet dreams darlin. :-)

Anonymous said...

oh yes, a pony tail most definitely, just a few wispy tendrils around my face :0)

Let me put my Halloween decorations up for the night, then we'll get to your little matter at hand. My hand that is.
