What a perfect name for this one! And a mini monk too even, lol! Your enthusiasm is contagious. I am going to try some other programs but Apophysis will probably always be the main one I use. Yay you!! Great stuff!
Oliviah, if I hadn't stumbled upon your fabulous blog and if you hadn't let your readers know what programs you were using I would have no idea these sorts of tools existed. I love it! Thank you so very, very much. Hugs and kisses!!!
phred, thanks for those kind words. Somehow I really feel the sincerity in your words and that makes me smile. The Monk is my fav piece so far. Has a certain haunting feel to it. A haunted monk, perhaps murdered in a secret political maneuver by a rival monk positioning for power. Mmm, so many possibilities. :-)
Y, if you come a little closer I'll whisper the answer in your sweet darlin' ear, just above your soft lobe in a way that warms both soul and lobe in a tingly sort of way. ;-)
Hello, I stared at this pic for quite some time before I actually saw the monk, but now I do, it's clear and done very very well.
Oh and I'd also like to take this time to tell you how sad I was to read about little Mario, a lonely tear splashed down onto my Alt key.. awwwww poor little thing, God bless :(
I keep coming back to look at it.. I think the priest has a dark secret. Or maybe he wants to tell me something. He keeps drawing me back. ( insert Twilight Zone theme here).
Aggie, lol, the name of the program used to create these fractals is "Apophysis." Google the term and you will find the site. The program is free and quite easy to use.
Christa, actually my skill with Apophysis at this point is more random than directed. I would love to say I created the monk with intent, but actually the computer generated a random series of calculations that struck my fancy. ;-)
Melissa, mini monk is more abstract than anything else and is really the small jagged shape at the very botton that looks like it is heading up the sleeve going to the right as the monk is facing left.

This one is surreal. I like it.
There's a mini monk crawling up his sleeve :-)
Nice.
Interesting...! :-)
Dzeni, this one grows on me every time I see it. Glad you liked it too.
A! I hadn't noticed the mini monk but I see him now--WOW--mini monk. You know, I'll never see this pic the same way again. lol
Y, red and black and involving a robe, how could you not like it. ;-)

Ahhh, I see another Melted brain coming along. Very good, and glad you named it.
Daddy, "melted brain" . . . Mmm, I like that thought. I like it very much. In fact, I think I felt like that last week--lol.
WAY cool. I like it !

Ahhh... Put I do like it Darlin' lol!
So why did you pick this picture...! ;-) Just curious...?!!
Y, this is a pic I created with the Apophysis fractal program. Consider it my own piece of art, thanks to the computer.
I like monks, I like red, I like the shadows and the many things that shadows imply, and I like that you like it. ;-)
Wow!! I'm impressed Tree...! Beautiful job Darlin'...! But I do have a question... What made you choose red and black...? :-)
Y, if you come a little closer I'll whisper the answer in your sweet darlin' ear, just above your soft lobe in a way that warms both soul and lobe in a tingly sort of way. ;-)
Thanks for the kind words. :-)
HA! Oh my...
Always my pleasure sugar...! ;-)
Ooooohhhh, been a while since I've been called sugar. SWEET! lol
Y, you might be more woman than I can handle. Your skill continues to amaze me darlin' ;-)
Well.... What else is there to say, after thatcompliment...? Thank you sugar! ;-)
Y, sometimes words are not needed; however, I do like a woman who knows her way around the language ;-)
K I dunno why, but this picture REALLY disturbs me.
Maybe it's just the dark tones with the red on black... kinda reminds me of spreading blood for some reason. However a good piece of work.
You show talent Tree :o)

Very cool Tree!
If there's any chance at all that you're using art as an expression right now, this must be one of those pieces, Trée.
Frustrated...right?
I keep coming back to look at it.. I think the priest has a dark secret. Or maybe he wants to tell me something.
He keeps drawing me back.
( insert Twilight Zone theme here).
Very nice.
Trée, murdered monk? Political scandal? You're watching way too much A&E and History channel.
And hey, what programs?? (still waitin on the 80 gig hard drive)
Aggie, lol, the name of the program used to create these fractals is "Apophysis." Google the term and you will find the site. The program is free and quite easy to use.

Mandy, good to see you here again. Thanks so much for the thoughts on Mario. He is still just hanging in there. He is one tough little canine.
Dawn and Jeff, thanks for the kind words. I wish I could take more credit but the computer really did all the heavy lifting on this one. :-)
phred, I know what you mean brother--lol.
OK, I can admit that I don't see the tiny monk, but that I really like the texture and flow of the design. Smooth and jagged, nice combo.

I like this one too for the same reasons. :-)
