Thanks Sunshine. I think this is the first "room" I've done although the there is no back wall, which, and you were correct, you can see the sky in the mirrored tiles.
Jenni, I can't wait either. I had started a post with Von as one of the two remaining "unknown" mates onboard. Then I thought, maybe this chapter is back on Hyneria and is a meeting with a mentor of Rog, which might help us give more background info on who Rog is. I'm still undecided which way to go.
Here is one version of who Von may be:
Rog took a seat across from Von’s desk. The old Hynerian mainly kept to himself and few onboard knew much about him or his past. He loved to tinker with the mechanical aspects of the ship and perhaps knew more about how things worked than anyone else. Von didn’t say much nor did he interact with the much younger crew. He was, for all intents and purposes, unknown.
Everything above may change or you might see this paragraph or something similar in an upcoming chapter. I do like playing with possiblities. :-)
Thanks Deb. Just got to love those alpha planes. The backdrop to the Helix chapter was nothing but one very large alpha plane with Hubble's image of that particular celestial nebula.
djb, you described it perfectly. I keep thinking of those toothpaste commercials, where each new one promises better results, yet because they keep doing that even this supposed great new thing that the toothpaste now does just floats overhead. I keep saying 'amazing' and 'stunning' and beautiful' and so forth and I keep feeling like I'm just not getting across what it is seeing these fabulous images and knowing someone (not least someone we 'know') has created them with a bit of software, someone who hadn't created a frac before just 5 months ago (hope I have the math right). Plus there is almost a sense of complacency coming into play now, in the sense of us getting used to being 'amazed' and 'stunned' and so on anew each time, so that images are accompanied with a slight sense of 'duh!'
Sunshine, I believe more everyday in an innerconnectiveness of life. These images and this story does not exist without you and many others. I do not create this or continue it without you, without those that comment and encourage. Without comments, there is no story. In many ways, you guys are co-creators of what is posted here.
That explains the original comment on the images below, remember being absolutely blown away yet it isn't reflected there, and I'm pretty certain the same could be said of almost every comment at Trebuchet. Whiplashed so often that it is like watching the most fantastic fireworks display going off up above, an on-going maximum-effect wowing. Images and story alike and so like the spectator of an awesome fireworks display, the metaphorical jaw remains permanently dropped. (almost) Two years of that has been wonderful, you know that I wouldn't mind remaining in that state forever. Regardless of the risk of drool :-D

Kathy, Kyra is the main character in my story. I did the sketch of her you see in this image. To see the original go here.
Oh Geeze I'm so embarrassed.
Oh Kathy, thanks for making me smile tonight. No worries. We are all peas in the same pod. :-)

Awww, you're welcome Kathy. Have a wonder filled weekend filled with peace and joy. :-)
:-) Subtle intro.
We need new words for the fracs though, I can't keep saying "fabulous" or "amazing", even though it is. :-)
Great 3D scene. I love how you incorporated Kyra's image into it and can't wait to find out who "Von" is.
This story just gets better and better.

Afternoon Sunshine. You are so kind my sweet. :-)
Another very cool image Trée. Placing Kyra's picture in there is extra coolness.

I don't think a Thesaurus, would help me anymore, I just sit back and keep looking at all the work.

duh as in of course it is fantastic, we expect nothing less.
and overhead as in those words just do not do the images justice anymore, used to much and too often.
DJB, I don't know what to say other than your mere comments makes my day. I sincerely appreciate them.

What a beautiful touch to have Kyra's picture there!
I think I prefer the first image, since I like blues...
Thanks Chicky.
