782. she cried, he left
Mairi had returned and her story filled the cottage through the night as if round a campfire. She had searched, village by village, town by town and he was nowhere to be found. Sitting in a small cafe one morning, he found her. They talked of what was and what was not and could never be. She cried. He left. And a cold wind seemed all that remained.

For those new to The Story, a little background on these last few chapters:
Trev and Mairi have a history, one that existed before there was a Trev and Em. Mairi, almost but not quite, in a Stockholm syndrome kind of way, formed a relationship with Dr. X. Once "the troubles" were over, he returned home rather unexpectedly. Mairi followed, which is why the entire crew is currently hanging out on Arc'teryrx. Apparently, she was unsuccessful. Em is not exactly excited to see her return, or I should say, to see what she imagines still exists between Trev and Mairi.
The Story as present as ever, as exciting, as addictive, as inspiring. Can hardly begin to imagine all that will come next with Mairi's return...I have a feeling it won't just be Trev and Em who will be affected.
Thanks Sunshine. So nice to see you visiting and commenting again. Looking forward to responding to each and every one. Hope and trust all is well with you and the girls.
As for Mairi--still not sure what to do with her, although I do have a few ideas that need a little percolating. As always, stay tuned. :-)
I would love to know what will happen next.
