285. From Within
“Zeke, I have a vessel waiting. Join me,” said Ji.From dry to wet, eyes silently twinkled like so many stars in the heavens, illumination, not reflection. “I can’t.”“Which is why you must.”Recommended soundtrack for this chapter: Enigma's Sadeness (Pt.1), or at least the first ninety seconds. ;-)Categories: Story, Zeke, Ji

This chapter takes us back to the last days of Hyneria. Bravo is gone and Zeke, aka Papa, meets with Ji as storms rage and the hour of darkness approaches.
Also keep in mind, we know there was another Hynerian vessel in the sector, the whole reason Kyra, Von and Em were where they were when they were attacked. And we still know nothing about that vessel. I'm not saying . . . but I"m just saying . . . :-D
Play with your imagination, assume nothing, and if you put your chips on the table, prepare to lose them all; or, maybe, win more than you ever expected. ;-)
Oooooooh! That's all I'm saying. :-D
That and very, very, very nice frac.
Thank you my Sweetest Sunshine. By the way, "Ooooooh" is way more kewl than "Wow." ROFLMFAO!!! :-D
What is the underlining message... why must Zeke go if he does not want to? Will his goig ultimately save his own life or someone else's?
I have that piece of music... very nice.
Inside, I don't know the answer yet. The story unfolds for me as it does for everyone else. ;-)
I have some ideas but they tend to change. What we do see is a great Hynerian caught between staying on his dying planet (the proverbial going down with the ship) or making the morally and ethically difficult decision to abandon ship, to take a privilege not available to the masses in order, as Ji would argue, to not waste his unique abilities in a losing cause.
Of course, Zeke has conflicting emotions. He is not superman and the dock scene with Kyra is still fresh in his mind and his heart aches in ways few can comprehend. There is also the issue of Hynerian life beyond life, the existence that we have seen Kieran move and perhaps Zeke is thinking that the time has come, perhaps that this second life is the life that allows him to reconnect with Grand, Kyra and others.
Right now, I have only questions. I'm as anxious to know what Zeke does as you. I'm also very interested in Ji's motivation and what is really going on with him posing the question. Just more questions. :-D
Inside, in looking at your question literally, Ji's question was a test. If Zeke had given the opposite answer, which is to say he had agreed, Ji would have frowned. But Ji was looking for Zeke's heart, as he did with the Zael episode, and as before, got the answer he was looking for--a heart in alignment with Love, and that is with a capital L as represented within the context of this story. Hope I just didn't confuse you further. ;-)
Enigma, very nice, excellent choice.
You could post your own soundtrack with software like Flash fetish....
The pictures of your blog are wanderfull!
Thanks Maurizio. Your kind words are greatly appreciated. :-)
