59. Marauders

Carnage equalled Marauders in the Zael system. No such creature existed around Hyneria and what Zeke saw next had never been seen by Hynerian eyes.

Sitting in front of the baby Zael with John's words of dispair ringing in his ears, the purplish vultures of the subsystem swooped into sight.

Zeke sat helpless. Unknown emotions flooded his being. No words could describe the horror of what he saw next.

Back on Command, Rogers monitored Zeke's vitals. All numbers spiked to personal highs. And then, as if by exhaustion, each number started dropping. Slowly at first, then faster and faster. 210, 190, 170, 130, 80, 40. Zeke's heart rate dropped. 40 beats per minute was a new personal low.

Rogers sensed movement. Turning, and snapping to attention, he greeted Ji.

"Captain," smiled Ji, "bring our Zeke home and have him report to my quarters. We have much to discuss."

Terry, you might not want to listen to the commentary. I too am glad to put this chapter behind us.

Trée said...

Trace, I've used all my words too. I'll let the commentary speak for itself. Thanks for you're incredible support of and for this story. The more I learn about Zeke, the more I envy Kyra and the childhood she had with Papa Kyra. She was one very lucky little girl.

Thanks Kel. I will check that out.

Evening.
Written words are excellent, reading (slow and steady:) was practically perfect, heartbeat heightened in concern for what exactly Zeke saw.
:-)
Onto commentary...

Morning Sunshine. You are up early. :-)

Thanks for such sweet words so early in the morning. Enjoy the audio.

Oh my gosh! I'm speechless, I truly don't know what to say! Anything I do say could not express adequately how remarkable the commentary for this chapter is.

Morning/Evening :-)

Thanks dearest one. Your words are very, very much appreciated. The words just flowed tonight. All four recordings done back to back with not a single start-over. First time that's ever happened. lol

So glad you liked these. I think they are the best ones to date.

Anonymous said...

They are the best ones for sure, hence the lack of knowing what to say instead of paragraphs of 'babble'.
:-)

Trée said...

Lot of emotion in those recordings. Not sure where that energy came from, but it came from somewhere deep inside. The story has seduced me now. How did that happen? LOL

Anonymous said...

Emotion audible, emotional to hear combined with the actual words, made it something in another league from the rest.
I'm here for another listen, just cos :-) and so I may be able to say more :-)...

Trée said...

Looking forward to what you may hear on the second listen. Please share.

The 2nd listen was as good, if not better, that is some feat! The 'change' weighed in heavier. First time around the first part of the 2nd commentary largely stole the focus.
2nd time, I have to smile with Ji (if that makes any sense :) and think, in some way, though what he saw was unspeakable, it came to good, made him better.

:-) You may get a third lol! (later)

The story has seduced you? How could it do that? Why would it do that? What would do that? Where would it do that? Why, right here in this page is a story of such magnitude with intense fractals, as I have never seen to go with the flow. I my friend, am the seduced one.

Anonymous said...

You were right... worse before better. Can it get better now??

Beautiful frac!

Have a great weekend! *HUGS* (Jack too!)

Happy Saturday morning Trée, hope you slept well and hope you have a great day!
(hugs)

DJB, I had no idea you were getting into the story. You might have to join the unofficial groupie fan club. You might like it since you would be the first male onboard. The conventions could be interesting. :-D

Thanks for leaving such a great comment for me to find this morning. Wonderful way for me to start my day. And if you get your sound working, these commentaries are the place to start, best ones done so far. Have a good weekend.

Karen, I think it's going to get better soon. I've been trying to figure out how to move to Kyra and her love life. So, sooner or later we are going to find out a little more about our girl in black with the big blue eyes. :-)

Jack is waiting for that too. LMAO

Trace, I'm off in a bit to watch C and the Bulldogs play their fourth game and try and protect their unbeaten streak. Have a great day tubey girl. :-D

Trée said...

Sunshine, your comments have been superb and deeply, deeply appreciated. Hope you have had a day filled with wonder and joy. Hugs and kisses my sweetest one. :-)

LMAO, you too darlin :0)

good luck
Go Bulldogs! :0)

I have just been hanging back, reading and watching your stories. Been holding back, so as not to irritate all your scrumptious girlfriends comments, ;} Sometimes it gets a bit warm in here. Heh Heh
Keep up the good work.

Trée said...

DJB, that's why I always keep a crack in my window during the winter. Otherwise something other than my mind might be melting. :-)

Trée said...

Trace, Bulldogs are now 4-0!

Afternoon Tennessee, hope you are having a great one!

Trée said...

Sunshine, the weather here today is gorgeous and I'm all alone in the house for an hour, so I'm working on the next chapter with this small window of peace. I'm going to use a fractal you've seen on Trebuchet, it's just too pretty not to incorporate into the story. Just started writing the prose, so look for it, with a little luck, in an hour or so.

Anonymous said...

"Jack is waiting for that too. LMAO"

How'd you guess? :]

Really the story is getting interesting more and more, Tree. Have you thought about writing a summary of where we are at this point?

Anonymous said...

Lovely post as always! Just wanted to say Hello Darlin' :-)

Trée said...

Jack, that thought has crossed my mind, and with me travelling on business next week and perhaps having very little time to work on images or the story, it might be a good time for me to do exactly that. Stay tuned for breaking news--lol.

Oh, and no promises. It's just a thought at this stage. A damn good thought, but thoughts and action are two very different things. :-)

Trée said...

Hey Y! Always brightens my day to see you stop by. Hope you are having a wonderful Saturday. :-)

Anonymous said...

Awww! Yes, I am! Thanks Darlin'. :-)

I was just visiting Garnet and learned that Blogger has an awards thing every year! I had no clue, especialy since, it's held HERE in Austin.

Well, I am definately voting for you! I already did for Garnet, as you have. SXSW is an awasome time here! Hope to see you both... :-)

Trée said...

Y, you are just too sweet. Thanks for the vote darlin'. If I'm going to Austin I'd better start logging a few more miles on my bike. Never know who you might run into down there. ;-)

Anonymous said...

That's right, so get to it-lol!

Oh, and Lance, he only lives just a few miles away from my new place! :)

Should I let him know, you may be in town during that week? LOL

Trée said...

Ask him if I can stay at his place since he never seems to be there. I'll take good care of the Porsche, no worries there. :-)

Anonymous said...

I'll do that tomorrow, when I go for my afternoon walk! Lol... The Grand Opera awaits me tonight! ;-)

Trée said...

Oooh, sounds like a night for the diary. Go make some memories! Then write all about it on your magnificent blog. With audio of course. :-)

Anonymous said...

The Opera presents "Lady MacBeth of Mtsensk" I haven't been to the opera in years, so this will be a lovely night!

HA! Yes well, stay tuned Darlin'. ;-)
