436. Eternal Smile

Kyra stood before the far wall of her quarters, her melanic leathered back to the silently twinkling cosmos, and ran her right hand softly over grand's illuminated quilt, the brooch held like a precious jewel in the open palm of her left.

"I miss you grand."

Kyra, leaning forward, nested her porcelain cheek against the very fabric woven in the hands of grounded love as images of grand's eternal smile, of papa holding her in his arms, of the good times at Valla, played before her mind like an old family movie projected on the bare wall might.

"May you be in the arms of papa tonight."

Am so pleased to see this image make it into the story, so that still more will see it. Is such a beautiful image and you have written a chapter that accentuates that beauty. Love it!

Thank you Sweetest. Thought of my own grandmother have been running through my mind this morning.

Hugs to you. I remember the very first chapter that featured Grand, the one about the brooch and though the relationship between Papa and Kyra was special, the warmth and love between Grand and Kyra touched hearts once more. I was in a rush when I was writing a comment, just wanted to say again, the warmth and love, reaching through the years of absence, is very much in evidence. Kyra was a very lucky hynerian to have two such devoted grandparents. Though of course they could not make up for the absence of her parents, they coated the gap with a love that still shines so brightly. The idea of memories being like a movie projected upon the bare wall is a wonderful analogy. And that once again warmth-inducing reminder of another lovely scene between Papa and Grand at the end there. Pure warmth, pure love, a thoroughly delightful chapter.

Sweetest, Valla will always be my favorite place in the entire story, no matter how many worlds Bravo visits. There is just something very magical about Papa and Grand and those whey beaches and teal warm waves--not to mention that bridge and those tri-moonrises. :-)

Tri-moonrises?

Whoah.

I need to become a space kitten.

I want to share with you... I have a small head scarf that my son wore in infanthood. Whenever he is not around & I miss him I take it out and sniff it. It has got the same smell on it still as I used to get it when I held him as in Infant...

( You might think I am a little crazy :D)

Mona, not at all. Smell, or so I understand, is the most powerful of memory enhancers. Associate a smell with something, and you will always be able to relive that event when that smell is present. I understand completely.

A scent and our sense of smell to enjoy its aroma, is a VERY powerful force indeed.

Especially in regards to memory.

It's mind-blowing to me sometimes.

Mona, I do not think you are crazy either.

Cos I understand completely.
