Sketched and painted in Corel Painter X. Based on a photo of the actor I would have chosen to play Papa--Paul Newman.

One word. Stunning.
When one thinks about the sketches and paintings that you have done, the quality and their evocativeness being on par with your writing and your fractal art, all I can think about is that were time unlimited, if you spent your life devoted to these creative pursuits, imagine then the body of work that you would produce. It is already so huge and though in my own personal case it is my own personal world, the magnitude of it upon the heart and upon the soul is such that it is carried, it is a part and to have been without is not difficult to imagine, but a torment to imagine. In my world, you stand with Shakespeare, you stand with Vivaldi, shoulder to shoulder with all the greats, and the only reason as I see it that it isn't that way outside of my world is that I reside at blogland in my sparetime and was fortunate enough to be lead here. Poignant image, porcelain, aged, smooth, Papa. What I meant to say above was that your talent is awe-inspiring. Half-finished is more than enough to know that.

Ms Storm, if I didn't know better, I'd think you were trying to get something. :-D

Mona and Deb, I'm still working on this one as you can see from the addition of the top image. Getting a little closer. :-)

What a lovely person.
A famous journalist of our country told several times since her 20's how this lovely person saved her life. She was already very famous here at her 21 years old, decided her suicide and was very down, he visited our country back in those days, and the day she decided this he saw something was going on with her, and spoke with her about fame and about life in a way that made her change her mind.
He was and continue to be very cherished here too.

Cristian, I think Paul would have made a wonderful Papa. He was more than an actor and I would have been proud to have him, as a person, play the part.

Oh, Tree, these are so lovely and simply perfect sketches of Papa.

Even half complete.

I really like the top one.

I REALLY like the top one.

I like them both, but there is something about the first image that draws me in.

It makes me want to go talk to that man.

It makes me want to tell him my troubles and see what he has to say.

He looks wise and kind. Aged, but somehow still so vivid and vibrant.

He looks REAL.

He looks like someone who would take my hand and have something to say that I would want to keep in my heart forever.

And not just would I want to.

I would.

Strumper, I like the top one too. I don't do a lot of sketches so your very kind words are very much appreciated. As for Papa, I feel the same way. There are days I wish he was here and I could spend some time with him. Probably why I created him in the first place. :-D

Oh, and for the record, Papa has steel blue eyes. What we see here is the brown and gold reflection in his eye and not his actual eye color.

He has such soulful eyes. I think I would pick up on that even if I didn't know anything about his personality.

You Tree, are a man of many gifts.
