574. Lotic/Lentic

Life is water

fluid

moving

Lotic

sometimes

Lentic

but forever in water

of water

within the sac

 we are born

more fish

 than fowl

thrown
 into the light

we slowly dry out

over a lifetime

and to dirt
 and dust
 we become

dry

waterless

_____

tears

life escaping

(notes found in one of Em's journals)

All of life is connected, intertwined circles within the river of time, or life, we can all agree on that more or less, the circle of one life, of generation to generation and of the rippling circles of connection. The words here have a glow, luminescent, never quite having heard life expressed that way, the bookends of water and dust, yes, but not the drying out and I begin to wonder why, why is it not something I have come upon in thought or the written word or speech, like the proverbial missing piece of the puzzle, it bridges one to the other so rationally, upon reading it is almost as though mist is lifted showing what was always there. Not so simple I know, but when theories are so comprehensible, it appears that way.
And the final part, the final part is too enchanting for words, the very idea that tears are life escaping makes my heart beat quickly as though on the verge of discovery or knowledge, or rather the discovery is the idea and now the delight comes from wanting to explore, to hold it up and turn it every which way and sit quietly with it, learn all that can be learned. Absolutely wonderful chapter, endearing Em all the more.

Another chapter written on IM, just thoughts flowing without thinking, fingers moving on keys, typing a feeling, an emotion more so than a thought. Glad you liked this one. :-)

Drying out over a lifetime, becoming dry as dust... that is a perfect description.

I am feeling a bit parched.
