Wow, I'm FINALLY all caught up AND I'm the first to comment?
Wow.
After I write my comment out, that will probably change, however.
The IMAGE in the header on top today....the colours....frail me with those colours!
Wow.
Big, bold, and fucking beautiful.
As for this chapter...the violent imagery encased in rhyme brings pictures to my head of what might be happening, but they are scattered and not quite clear.
They make me scared.
And they make me yearn for more...as your teasing tends to do.
I just hope the Hood is okay.
I want to wrap myself around his arm.
I'm sure he is....
As what I'm imagining is...
... that Kyra just kicked some major Hood-minion arse.
That's SO fucking hot.
And if I'm totally off-base... it's still hot just imagining it.
And I thank you for that.
xo, Mr. Tree.
:-D
Missed you bunches and bunches and had WAY too much fun playing catch-up tonight...
I have to admit to totally not understanding this one. *hangs head and kicks dirt*
As stumpet mentioned, I love the header today.
Strumper, so good to see you back again. As for this chapter, you hit the nail on the head. Ready to be oystered? :-D
By the way, I love, love, loved reading all your delicious comments. The whole time I was thinking buttered corn on the cob. And yeah, I got walnuts. :-D
W, Kyra has been captured and is in a holding cell aboard the ship taking her back to Kulmyk. Two of the guards talk themselves into thinking they are going to take a few liberties with her but find she serves them their walnuts on a hynerian platter. :-D
I am SO frailing ready.
Kyra has me all turned on.
Shlurp.
YES! Thank you Wamblings, we were ship-mates on this one.
I hate to come out and say, "Um, Tree'? I don't understand." So I often back off, come back, and get loads of enlightenment from the comments. It feels like being in college again, riding the coat tales of other students to understand the Professor!
So now.....Way to Go Kyra!
Jen
I made the mistake of reading the above before getting to this one, which has been sitting on the shelf of my mind since yesterday remembered as one reading will do, which is to say an eagerness and excitement to read anew. Only got better during stoppage time and it is with even more of a thrill that I read it again today. A lesson delivered and a whoop to know that assumptions were quashed and affirmed was the belief that Kyra can take care of herself. Not that she is invincible, far from it, but that she is not one to be trifled with. Beautiful flow to this one, the rhymes deft giving the idea that it appeared within seconds, which I know can be the case with your writing but I also know that there is always that flow to your writing that makes it appear effortless. Wonderful.
Jen, other than showing where Kyra was and that she could take care of herself with regard to the minions, I wanted to highlight that "two", together, will often take action that "one" alone would not. These two minions "caballed" and together convinced themselves, without favor of those above, to take their spoils of war. In other words, they acted alone and acted in collusion and acted against the wishes of their superiors. The Hood would not have been very happy if they had succeeded in their blood lust. :-D
Sweetest, effortless is not a word I would have used to describe this one. :-D
As always, thank you for your warm and kind words. Very much appreciated. :-)
Oh, I do heart the Hood...
The Hood would not have been very happy if they had succeeded in their blood lust.
I knew that.
The Hood probably doesn't hire his own minions. Somebody else probably hired those buffoons.
After the war is over, I'm sure Hoodie is going to have a company-wide, all-staff meeting at Hood Inc. as to the caliber of minion he expects to carry-out his orders.
Maybe he'll let me take the minutes....I'll dress fun, and sit quiet in a corner-like.
And when the meeting's over and everyone's gone, he can rip my clothes off and take me on the conference table.
Yay!
I'd like to see that. Oh, and I think he waxes his conference tables with Pledge. :-D
T, Thanks for explaining. I was a bit confused but I see it now.
W, I need to put more background info into the opening comment when I write a chapter like this. I only tend to write about 10% of what I imagine and in my mind, what I've imagined for The Story exists as if it had been documented. As a result, you get a chapter like this that seems to just drop out of the sky and leaves everyone just scratching their heads. I'll work on doing better.
What I like about this blog is that half the story is in the post the other in the comments!
I thought at first this was Kyra's capture but now I know better.
Where would the fun be if everything took place just in the post? ;-)
