Tracy Chapman: Change

If you knew that you would die today,
Saw the face of god and love,
Would you change?
Would you change?

If you knew that love can break your heart
When you're down so low you cannot fall
Would you change?
Would you change?

How bad, how good does it need to get?
How many losses? How much regret?
What chain reaction would cause an effect?
Makes you turn around,
Makes you try to explain,
Makes you forgive and forget,
Makes you change?
Makes you change?

If you knew that you would be alone,
Knowing right, being wrong,
Would you change?
Would you change?

If you knew that you would find a truth
That brings up pain that can't be soothed
Would you change?
Would you change?

How bad, how good does it need to get?
How many losses? How much regret?
What chain reaction would cause an effect?
Makes you turn around,
Makes you try to explain,
Makes you forgive and forget,
Makes you change?
Makes you change?

Are you so upright you can't be bent?
If it comes to blows are you so sure you won't be crawling?
If not for the good, why risk falling?
Why risk falling?

If everything you think you know,
Makes your life unbearable,
Would you change?
Would you change?

If you'd broken every rule and vow,
And hard times come to bring you down,
Would you change?
Would you change?

If you knew that you would die today,
If you saw the face of God and love,
Would you change?
Would you change?
Would you change?
Would you change?

If you saw the face of God and love
If you saw the face of God and love
Would you change?
Would you change?

Good song writing and good voice. If you haven't heard "Changes" yet I think you will find it most excellent. I put it right up there with "Fast Cars."

Pop over and see how gorgeous Karen looks!

Haven't heard it yet. That's some recommendation.

I love most of TC's stuff, have since she first started out all those years ago.

However, see my blog entry about copyright issues ...

Mergrl, so good to see an old friend. I always think of you whenever I do lunges or think of the beach--lol. Feel free to leave comments anytime on any post, even just to say hi. :-)

LOL not the lunges LOL

LOL, mergrl, of all the exercises I do, I dread lunges the most. If I ever die of a heart attack while exercising, believe me lunges will be the cause. Talk about busting your balls or overies, as the case may be--lol.

Tracy Chapman is one of the most under-apprecated artists around. Love her work, her style, her moods, her words!

Been listening to this song over the last several days and I'm more impressed everytime I hear it. If you have iTunes, listen to the 30 sec sample, then go buy this song. Oh, and the lyrics kick ass in a Linny sort of way. LMAO
