522. Torrid Impalement

Yul, back curved with the grace of twin taut suspension cables, lips parted in glistening heat, head back and regal straight, her lioness mane a shimmering waterfall, her angled eyes silted gray, said: "Baby, bring your instrument of torrid impalement over here and impart within me the wisdom bestowed within your hewn oak. Wield me darling as a knight wields his lance, take me as a cowhand takes his calf, use me as a cobbler uses his hammer."

Rog didn't need to be asked twice.

:-D Ahh, it is so good to see these two again, and to see them doing what they do best...bouncing off another and making your visitors smile wide. How could one not reading that. I absolutely love the part that reads 'Wield me darling', permission please to use that at least once in my life under the appropriate circumstances. :-) Like a dip, theatrical, enthralling, exciting and..pretty.

Pretty doesn't refer to the writing as such, but the flamboyancy of it.

Also, the dip was perhaps inspired by the grace and bow of this flamenco fractal. One for the walls. If all other dreams lose their footing, that one will remain for that reason if no other.

Inspiration is a funny thing. Yesterday I was on my deck reading Nabokov's short story, Natasha. He used the word 'torrid,' a word I wouldn't normally use so it caught my eye. And, apparently, caught my imagination. I had my computer with me so I quickly dictionaried the word and then immediately typed out the chapter you see here. In other words, this chapter was born to make use of a single word, to wield it in my mind. So there you have it. :-D

I'll be In Irvine, CA all next week, so if any of my adoring fans would like to have coffee or wine, drop me a note. No autographs please. ;-)

The trip is business so I don' expect to have time to write next week. Then again, I've said that before. :-D

Your Birthday! I hope that you had Good Love, just like Yul and Rog. Birthday lovin' can be such VERY GOOD lovin' indeed!

Happy Birthday and I am sorry that I wasn't here in person with confetti, balloons and blowouts on the actual day. Seems my Birthday Wishes of late are ALL belated. Ask anyone. So you haven't actually been overlooked, just part of a greater number of special people on the recieving end of late b'day wishes from me.

Take Care. I look forward to wishing you a belated Happy Birthday next year, and years to come!
