Smiled at this: From the Art of Trée George the other day and it slipped my mind, once I got to commenting, to comment hereupon. Has a very nice ring to it. :-) Slides off the tongue, aye, it does.

And what an amazing collection you are accumulating. Not just fractals, but sketches and paintings and other bits and pieces, I can't help but dream of the day that one will be able to see them on a larger disply - like those little 'fun' pictures that are at the fan site - huge against an even huger expanse of wall, or as the image the other day, directly upon brick. If that never happens for one reason or another, everyone is invited to my dream house, where as you know, the favourites will be on display.

I loved the first sketch of Mairi, something very appealing about her and that was before we really knew very much about her. More so now of course that she has come to be loved for her character. Always on a voyage of discovery, you've created something equally beautiful and original once more. The colours are exquisite, no prettier colours than those that are like this, whether the tones dip into burnt orange or copper..etc, few as vibrant and as evocative. Really like, as I said before, the way in which the shape is somewhat like a dancing flame so befitting of the colours, the fire against the black (of night). The eye lashes draw me personally more than any other part of her, the sweep and curve and lightness of them. Such a sweet, for lack of a better word, nose, beautifully defined, easier to see when enlarged, and the lips are lovely too, the luscious bottom lip especially, very sensual. It's a fabulous piece within a fabulous collection. Well done you! And thank you, which I so often forget to say, for sharing all of this with us, a real thrill and a great pleasure to come here and to fall in love over and over again with words, with pictures, with your characters, with your blog and with you. :-)

Sweetest, thank you for the kind words, which you give so freely. With each sketch and painting I'm learning a little more about Painter and light and shape and all the rest. Writing and Painting are both creative processes, yet, seemingly, very different and probably tap into different parts of the brain. I seem to be in either one mode or the other but never at the same time. Very interesting to watch that at work.

I'm so glad you are enjoying these latest paintings. I'm having a ton of fun creating them. :-)

I can only imagine that Mairi must have had one awesome smile because the brightest colour in this image is of her teeth.

However, the darkness surrounding the image is deep and mysterious, therefore I find it an incredibly interesting choice to put the brightest colour in this area.

It makes one think and wonder.

The contrast of these things simply makes her appear to be so very serene, yet in deep thought.

And, as Madame Storm said...her eyelashes are quite exquisite.

Strumper, this was an interesting image to work on. I worked hard to try and get those lips and teeth right, not to mention the eyes. The image you see there was the third try. I'm kinda thinking the second version was better. It is posted, by the way, at Trebuchet as the top image.
