Oh that is Ominous. Downcast eyes - prayer? Meditation? Not fear or submission because this is Kyra. But looks like she is definitely garnering more strength.
I like the brush strokes in the header at the neck, and across her chest. This has alot of texture. And no eyes pictured. That speaks some how. But I don't know exactly what it says to me. Maybe mystery? Or that the subject's emotions are not discernable? Anyway, I like it.
A new T won't solve my predicament. :-D What can I say, I don't even know how mere words could reach the heights of the wow exclaimed. Texture and colours are marvellous, the gold with the aubergine against the black curtain of her hair and the cream of her features. Top one with the shadows across the cheekbones and higher definition in general is seriously impressive (in particular). Leaps and bounds as always, her star-studded sapphire eyes have not the time to be missed with so much else to draw the viewer's eyes, but as Jennifer said she does look meditative, as though she is drawing out all the fireflies so to speak, centering herself. Your touch stuns me.
Annie, I'm working on light and color or at least trying to understand how to see better. I'm excited about how much progress I should be able to make based on where I currently am. :-)
Sweetest, before you heap too much praise my way, this image is suppose to show her wearing a hood, no pun intended, with her melanic locks tucked away. I tried to do something a little different on the background. You'd think it would be easier to throw a bunch of graffiti on the canvas and have it look decent. :-D
One of the challenges with using Painter is staying focused. There are so many options, so many brushes, so many papers and textures and all the rest. As always, your comments are the warmth in my coffee. :-)
Jen, I chose this image of Kyra for a number of the reasons you mention. Eyes closed to show that what must be seen cannot be seen with eyes, the robes and meditative pose to show a side of Kyra we know is there but rarely see, her in prayer as we would call it, a connection to those who have gone before her (Kieran, Papa, The Unknowns).
This image is Kyra after returning to Kulmyk but before she is escorted in to see The Hood for the first time. I've been mulling that meeting and if I knew exactly how to write it, I would have. I envision a conversation or a series of conversations on issues broad and wide. I think we will see a side of The Hood a little different than the caricature the story has portrayed him to date. No one is all evil or all good. The Hood is no different in this regard.

Looking forward to the confrontation!

Deena, always nice to see you stopping by. For where you are in your chemo treatment, you look absolutely fabulous.

Wow, very nice. The portraits portray her complexities.
Thanks Deb :-)
Should I be jealous?
Nah, I think you're fine. But this is what happens when you're absent. The Hood gets lonely too. :-D
