Windows

I often think about windows
those moments in time
when a thing is possible
then and only then

And I wonder why
I think there will be
second
chances
that the opportunity of today
will be there tomorrow

for I know
if I don't bed the lass
when the lass is to be bedded
the bed wished warm
will remain but the wish
and only the memory
will remain warm

"Windows" is a nice surprise, Trée. I'm rather impressed. It could have various meanings, and those would all be profound.

To elaborate...my surprise is at how obvious the possible various interpretations rather than having to guess whether there are possible others, for example, the immediate prior post. A master at work if you don't mind my saying.

I typed the password into the 'name' space... guess I haven't had enough of Trée's mistress, but I'm working her over as hard and fast as I can.

Ah, so gifted.
Ingenious poem, once again surprising as Lucila commented, the first two stanzas opening the mind, like the very windows that the words depict, the heart too in personal recollections, correlative, roused by the contemplative, wishful tone, those windows could be applied to any number of things. The great merit of this poem occurs from those definitive two parts, the dance between them, the inclusive, conceptual, thought-provoking beginning and the casualness, for lack of a better word, of the last stanza, in particular the use of the word 'lass' lends a wonderful easy and veracious, confiding tone, that isn't quite how I wanted to describe it, charming, whimsical, inspired, and entirely wonderful. The poem that you showed me yesterday, the first one, this is read as that one was. So impressed by these last two, beyond my ability to say.

Lucila, you make me smile. I am surprised at the reaction to this poem. I thought it was no better or no worse than all the rest, but, for whatever reason, this one seems to resonate with people. Wish I could anticipate these things. :-)

Your kind words are very much appreciated. Thank you.

Well, Ms Storm, I really don't know what to do with that thought of gifted. I won't argue with you, as we've been down that road before and I won't tell you I don't see what you see, because, well, we've been there too--and besides, who am I to tell you what to think or that your sight is not better than mine. Here is what I will say: Thank you.

I may do audio on this one as there is much to say as to where this poem comes from and why I wrote what I wrote. No promises, but if the mood strikes. :-)

My dear Trée,

You can always be counted on to provoke my thoughts. I have been away too long and it's nice to come back to something that I can read, re-read and think about xx

Elise, I was fearful you had gone forever so to see your comment is as a rainbow in my sky. Thank you for the kind words. I'll be over to see you soon. Good to see you back my friend. :-)
