404. Damn!
John stood before Kyra. Said what he came to say. She stood without speaking as a volcano sits without eruption. Sometimes.
"You Janus Frailing Bastard!"
John started to speak. Starting is as far as he got. From his left, as a bat shot from a dark cave, Kyra slapped the hellocks out of him. He wiped the blood from his mouth with the back of his hand and started to speak again. From the right, a blur of leather, with the crack of lightning, stuck the other side.
"Call it even. Damn." Kyra turned.
"Don't--"
She wheeled on the word and pointed her finger as a dagger. "Don't you even frailing say it. This is MY ship and I ain't your frailing beotch."

Alt phrasing: . . . and impaled her finger in his chest. :-D
Oooh, oooh, oooh!
It is liking walking into a room and unknowingly stumbling upon a huge scene meant for closed doors but where the parties are so involved they have ceased to care and not knowing what reaction to choose between. "Don't--", not just here but anywhere, that word alone as it is here is penetrating. I hear them, see their faces, their stances, their eyes, this is the spirit of your writing. And I can't help wanting him to wrap his arms around her, though he would have a job trying to. :-) To hold her head against his chest, and her arms in turn as calmness seeps in to link about his waist. That's one scenario playing through my mind and a heart-to-heart thereafter about Ariel, and Kyra knows.
This was was truly excellent!
I was listening to Rhianna. :-D
"I can't compete with a memory
How can I fight with someone that I can't see?
Theres two of us but it feels like three"
That is not exactly what is going through Kyra's mind, but the emotional tone is similar. Whiplash. Not what she was expecting. :-)
As always, your comments are nothing short of a delight. Thank you Betty. :-)
Rhianna of Umbrella?
Simmering under the surface all this time, somewhere recently - was it audio - you spoke of John and the involuntary but natural thought that passed through his mind, something I had wanted to mention before that, that it couldn't help but have occurred to both of them, whether or not they have acknowledged the thought or not that the doorway is open sometime in the future to explore now what never could have been more before.
This story entertains long after one leaves the page. :-D Afternoon, Al, :-), hope you have a most wonderful day, x
Has she ever met her match?
Not yet. :-)
