vertebra dunes

vertebra dunes whisper
rivers of golden curves
choreographed in flickering shadows
upon a sea of cotton
and a caravan of fingers
move like languid camels
to sighs steady as sunrise
shimmering in noon heat
between tremulous lips
and cool murmuring tongues
that dance below moons taut
as flowers flow
in the lake of fire
and minds twine
the wicked routes
of trade bartered
spice quartered
and fruit martyred

in the warm
commerce

Oh my. I love it when you write like this. This being the very definition of luscious, aesthetic language, equally titillating in sound and meaning. Intoxicating in its eloquence, the words are like a steady drizzle of warm honey upon the senses, shiver-inducingly lovely. You have such a gift for expression, I am so steeped in wow with phrasing such as vertebra dunes and a caravan of fingers/move like languid camels/to sighs steady as sunrise and as flowers...fruit martyred that I don't even know what to say, how to tell you how abso*lutely gorgeous this piece of writing is and like a thousand times before I wish that you had been right here to observe what could only have been the very visible delight found in every single curve and vibration. Just like Heaven, that part within that seems to plunder every element of soul, demanding complete surrender in the presense of such exquisiteness, a Melua of Poetry so to speak. I really as you can see don't even know what to say. Just wow, capitols all the way.

Sweetest, this poem started with the single image of vertebra dunes and everything else flowed from there. The body is such an undiscovered country and I feel like traveling. :-D

As always, your kind words are very much appreciated. Thank you.

Tree, this really grabbed me. I have applied my own vision and meaning. If you take a short ride on my bus, you'll see what your language stirred up in my head.
