384. Don't Spare the Horses

A single tear rolled down Kyra's porcelain face, her visage aglow in the virescent light of the slate. The rest of the crew stood about her like expectant fans at an amphitheater; John and Von beaming like parents on Christmas day.

"What does it say?" asked Trev.

Kyra looked up and smiled with her cheeks, which only served to push a few more tears wayward. "We're going home."

Love the image!

Phew, John and Von are safe and sound and the messengers of great news to boot. More than messengers. :-)
like parents on Christmas day is another fine example of your adeptness at conveying what you want to tell in the simplest way possible.

Going home, and just in time for tomorrow. Therein lies a lasting smile. :-)

More to come my Sweet. The good news just keeps coming. :-D

Two British references in the last two chapters. Major brownie points to anyone who can identify them both. :-D

As always, thanks for the very kind words. Feels like Christmas eve doesn't it. :-)

Thank you for the Thanksgiving good wishes. We took a road trip over the holiday weekend and had a great time. Hope your holiday was funtastic!

Thank you Deb. Lots of food, lots of "bad" football (all my teams lost); and not much else. Good to hear you and Mark had a good time. :-)

As it is already Monday morn here albeit early can I be the first to congratulate you on the most wonderful achievement I've seen in blogland.
Most peoples blogs don't even last as long as your 'Story' has done.
Your writing creates visualisations better defined than any photograph and my only wish is that I regularly had the time to come and read more.
Happy Anniversary

British references, mmm...one must be 'arse' the other 'slate' I think!!

Once again very well done!

Thank you Simon. By calendar time, we are about five hours away. By way of childbirth time, we'll have to wait about twenty-two more hours to officially celebrate two years. :-D

Here is my suggestion. Spend less time at DAS and more time at DT. Besides, you'll find her here anyway. ;-)

Thanks for the very kind words. Outside of my Sweetest One, you are the first. :-)

Oh Simon, as for the two British references, you'll need to think of historical references along the lines of king and queen, one of each if I have my facts right, separated by 400 to 500 years take or give a century or two. :-D
