Steve, if you recognize the face then I take that as the highest compliment. Normally, my paintings and sketches only bear the slightest resemblance to the actual subject. :-D

Oh my gosh. :-D You should have woken me!!
This is sooooooooooooo good, I wanna jump up and down and clap my hands and shout in glee! (lol)
It's papa, and just as he should be. :-) I'm speechless and I need to wake up some more, but in short, poppet, it's absolutely, positively, without a shadow of a doubt FAN-*-TASTIC!!!

Back for another looksee, now that the litt'uns are off the comp. :-)

Really is so very, very good! He has such wonderfully bright eyes, can imagine what they would look like when smiling, which one can see by the lines of his beautiful face that he spent most of his life doing. First comment stands, fan*tastic!!!

Papa is the kind of handsome that come from the inside as well as from his genes. He's so beautiful. You, my friend, are a portrait artist. You must have been seeing this as pictures inside your head all of your life to make them come to life so well.

Of course Papa looks familiar -- that is so because this is the one role that Paul Newman would have loved more than Butch Cassidy and when time travel is a reality, we can go back in time and get him to play the part in the movie.

Of course, even Paul Newman at his best age would need a lot of make-up to look just right, because Papa is thinner in the face and much better looking -- he has a wisdom Newman's face lacked at that age.

Afternoon Sweetest Sunshine. Your kind words are the sugar in my morning coffee, which is a good thing since I drink my coffee black because otherwise it would just be too sweet. :-D

I'm very excited about this image to two levels. First, it is a step ahead of anything I've done so far and progress is very uplifting to the heart; (2) There are so many things I see that need improvement--not being overly critical, but I'm excited because I know beyond all doubt I can do better. Still, I like the idea that Zeke's portrait is the best of the lot so far, and done in a manner befitting the hynerian himself.

Oh, I did try to wake you, but you looked so peaceful Poppet didn't have the heart to pull your toes. :-)

Liz, your insight always leaves me speechless. I think you know Papa probably better than I do. When we make the movie, I'm going to hire you as creative character consultant. You'll be working with all the actors making sure they fully understand their roles. :-)

Did you notice I painting his fall pullover to look like mountains with fresh snow? Just a little play on this stature, a mountain of a hynerian Zeke was. :-)

As always Liz, your visits here and your wonderful comments are deeply appreciated.

Initial sketch and painting half way are posted to Trebuchet

Captured: a timeless moment. I know the eyes never change - from childhood to the end... except for perhaps becoming more wise. As s william said, Papa does look familiar. Warm and safe - wise and capable. You have done well with this one.

Thanks Terry. I wanted to do something a little more for Zeke. I thought he deserved it, since he had to stay behind. :-)

Why Meg, I think it is. Let me check though. . . .

Yes, it is. :-D

I have experience in un-penting, just so you know. :-D

Have a great weekend Meg. :-)

Oh he is so beautiful...everyone has spoken well--the only words I can add are in my heart and if I could articulate them, I think I would know my own self better.

I believe that we all see something in each of these images that is peculiar to our own lives and no one elses...along with what is meant to be seen by their artist. Art is so cool, and you, sweet one, are a gifted artist

Sweet dreams, poppet. :-)

Trée,
I joyfully accept the position as creative whatever on the movie. Can't actors (with my bits of theater I know them a little) taking liberties with your characters so deeply drawn and close to the heart.

No worries, I'm smile and tease all of the ego out of the people we choose to play the important roles so that you get the movie that all of us imagine this will be. Imagination is a powerful thing. In the right hearts, it shall not be thwarted.

Grow, man, grow!

Oh Liz, my cheeks are hurting from smiling so much at your comment. Consider it done. I'll start working on your name badge right away. :-)

I like to give my actors some creative flexibility, but your job is to make sure they stay within the true spirit of the character. Good luck. :-D

Afternoon Sunshine. :-)

Oliviah, I hardly know how to respond to such a warm and wonderful comment to read with my morning coffee. You do have a way of getting my day started on the right foot and for that I thank you very, very much.

Oh, and if you haven't noticed, I have a new name for you: Beautiful Soul, not to be confused with the initials of course. :-D

Have a great weekend my dear Beautiful Soul. :-)

Morning sweetmeat :-D, wishing you a wonderful Saturday, x

Hi Trée :)
Papa reminds me of Paul Newman. Don't you think?
Do you draw these or is it also a computer program?

Trée said...

Melly, I do an initial sketch and then use Corel's Painter 9.5 (a program somewhat similar to photoshop) to digitally paint. I've posted the sketch and the painting in progress here: Trebuchet if you want to see the WIP (work in progress).

Oh, and I used several photos of Paul as reference for this painting, so it pleases me very much you recognized the source. :-)

Wow... I get the feeling I am waching the characters are coming to life.

Trée said...

Chicky, I'm feeling the exact same way. :-)

I like him; he resembles Paul Newman. Great portrait. You are incredibly talented in many areas!

*HUUGS* to you and Jack!

Trée said...

Karen, so glad you see the resemblance since I did use Newman as my reference for Papa. :-)

Your kind words are very much appreciated. :-)

Karen said...

You did well, he has such captivating eyes too. I always did like Paul Newman in movies, he has such a strong presence.

Trée said...

Karen, Paul is one of my all-time faves, both young and old. I think he'll do Papa well. :-)

Karen said...

Absolutely :-) I like him young and old too. I loved Message in a Bottle, (not just because Kevin Costner was in it) he because Paul played a great part.

Trée said...

Karen, that was a fun movie and I too love the roll Paul had. By my reckoning, we are in agreement on Paul. :-D

My last comment was on the 21st! I am a bit thrown to realize 10 days have gone by since I have visited. I wish I didn't lose time (it isn't exactly losing track of time--it's losing time)...I worry that I must seem so rude, my randomness. It has something to do with my memory but I don't know how to explain it or how to do anything about it. I wish I had seen your comment, you said you have a new name for me, Beautiful Soul. How sweet a thought. You've made me smile. I hope you forgive my strange absences.

Trée said...

Oliviah, I understand completely. No worries. Come when you can. You will always be a beautiful soul to me. :-)

Oliviah said...

...am relieved
