For those not on our cancer fighting team, these numbers represent the point value assigned by the project based on total amount of work each person's computer(s) have returned. The points themselves have no significance other than friendly competition and a sense of accomplishment and measurement of completed work.

Talk down to me, Trée, and explain what these numbers are about...money, signatures? I realize of course you have people joining a team dedicated towards the fight of cancer, but what is it you do as a group, whilst so far apart?
Autumn, here is the executive summary:
We all run a very small screensaver like device on our computers that works on a very small part of a huge research project by the University of Oxford.
The device does everything in the background, like a screensaver. It downloads the current work unit, and when finished (usually between 24 and 48 depending on speed of your computer)it uploads the results back to Oxford.
It's that simple. Now for the points or stats you see me post. Two things: (1) each time your computer sends a result back to Oxford you are assigned a certain point value for that unit. (2) the points are just for fun and have no meaning other than friendly competition between mates. I work with some very competitive people--lol.
To learn more, click on any of the links on my sidebar under the heading of "Learn More About Our Cancer Fighting Team." If you start with the first link "Oxford wants You" this one will give you the basics.
To join our team takes just two steps as outlined at the very top of my page. Takes usually less than 5 minutes to download the device and join our team. After that, you just let the device do it's thing.
If you have any specific questions, feel free to email me. Our team is open for any and all who want to join. We would love to have you onboard if this sort of thing appeals to you. Thanks for asking.
