Boolean Operations

Vue allows one to create an infinite number of objects using Boolean functions of difference, union, and intersection. In this image, I took a sphere and placed it inside a slightly larger square. The Boolean difference function removed the square from the circle. Of course, if I had centered the square within the circle that might have helped the composition. I'd like to think when this pod crashed into the sea, it cracked and twisted. That's my story. :-D

Thanks Sunshine. I'm just messing and playing with the program trying to learn some of the basics. I'm posting these images to keep something fresh on the blog. Work is still all comsuming at this time. I hope when I can catch my breath, I'll be able to get back to the story and by then perhaps these 3D images can help move us forward at times. Thanks, sweetie, as always, for the very kind words. Much appreciated.

OOOOhhhhh - and the textures!! I didn't even get the texture until I looked at the enlarged pic. It looks all ancient and forgotten. Fantastic choice!

Holy Mother of Janus Cows woman! People are living and dying by what you may do next on HNT. Get cracking. I've got plenty, and I do mean plenty of ideas if you need a little help. :-D

ROFLMAO

don't think its quite a national crisis just yet LOL

its not thursday yet, and I do some of my best work under pressure LOL

That's the spirit Tubey. I like your spunk. I'm expecting big things in the next 48 hours. You know you have raised expectations to fever pitch levels. You've got an audience and I think they have pitchforks in their hands. Be prepared to deliver or else. LMAO!

:0D I'll try and not disappoint LOL

Trée said...

You have legions of fans. And I'm not even counting the underground 9th grade science movement. This could be your big career move. I think we need to see the cateye glasses hanging down in the next round or two.

ROFLMAO my poor little freshman, their poor little teenage brains would be warped forever if they had a clue what prim and proper schoolmarm Ms. Tubey did on Thursday :0D

Trée said...

Oh I think they know. You give it away in the way that you walk. They know. Now what they know is not clear, but I promise you they know something is up with Ms Tubey. :-D

Thanks Anna. Good to see you stop by again.

At first glance I thought it was a patchwork quilt, somehow fallen into an unknown sea. A different style for you I think. Still fascinating as always.

that's really beautiful work

Is Vue a ray tracer of some description? What you are describing is very similar to how POV-Ray works, where you can add / subtract / union / intersect objects. Cool picture. Looking forward to getting more of the story.

"You give it away in the way that you walk." :)
The eyes, too, don't forget the eyes - can always tell the wicked from the sweet by the glint in their eye.
(chants) I know, what Trace is doing for HNT
- you, sweetheart, will love it, I can tell you that much :)lol

Busy with work means no chance of boredom, always a plus. Though for my own personal sake, I hope, it gets a little less demanding, so that I might finally find out what happens between K&K :o)
Looking forward to more of these 3D,
- fresh, new & ever-improving.

Good morning darlin, hope you have a wonderful Wednesday :0)

Autumn shhhhhhhhh ;0) LOL

:o) Just a tiny hint to get him wondering lol

you know, now Tree is totally encouraging Tubey girl to go all out on HNT, and then he sits around and frets for days like a protective mama bear, when he doesn't hear a peep from our Mystery Grrl on campus (MGOC) after she is still recuperating from the side effects of her previous HNT escapades...go figure, huh?

I like it - very well done. I love the reflection too, they're my favorite types of photos and this frac is incredible too.

Happy Hump Day to you and Jack! *HUGS* *poof*

Terry, thanks for the kind words. This program does allow me to create images very different than anything I've done to date. I'm looking forward to getting much better as soon as I have some time to learn the program, esp as it related to light.

Trée said...

Brood Mode, thanks for stopping by and thanks for your wonderfully kind words. Always appreciated. Hope to see you stop by again. :-)

Jenni, Vue is a e-on software program. Here is the short version of how they describe Vue:

"E-on software is the leading developer of quality solutions for the creation, rendering and integration of natural 3D environments."

I'm not sure of the techincal language to describe how the program works but if you are interested, their website has a ton of info. I've had a ton of fun working with the program and I love the ability to create 3D worlds and landscapes.

I'm looking forward to getting back to the story too. :-)

Trée said...

Sunshine, thanks for the kind words on these new images. And thanks for the heads up on what Trace is playing. Anticipation. Such a wonderful thing. :-D

I agree about the eyes too. :-)

Trée said...

Tubey dear, I'm expecting big things now-LMAO. And there you were trying to lower expectations. Sneaky little choir girl. No pressure darlin'. :-D

I know Lisa, I'm a complex and complicated one. Want my cake and eat it too. So, do you bake a good cake?

Trée said...

Karen, thanks for those very, very kind and wonderful words. I almost didn't post this image, but I'm so glad I did now. Can wait to check out your hump day posting. Take care sweetie. :-)

Hi Tree trace? im still confused on the name...sorry im slow.

what you said on Entlands blog was beautiful,

"May your tears
water the plants
such that your essence
nurishes them."

are these photos still fractals? they look different to me. neat stuff! :)

Trée said...

Hi Kathy. On your blog my name shows up as Tr@ce instead of Tree. Not sure why that happens. But here, I am Tree and Trace is Tracey, aka mergrl.

Thanks for the kind words regarding the message I left for Mark. I thought his post was very moving and touching. I believe in a oneness to all things and his post triggered a very clear picture in my mind of the oneness between his tears and the needs of the plant.

The program I'm using to create these images is not a fractal program but rather a 3D program. The potential to create photorealistic landscape images is within reach with Vue, assuming one knows what one is doing--lol.

Thanks for your kind words Kathy. Always good to see you stop by. :-)

If I can quote Vader:

"Impressive. Very impressive."

Love the artwork, especially "10pm" and I think it would make a great photo for NASA (like a "fly me to the moon" type of thing). ;)

PS

Are you writing a mini blog story-novel?

Double PS

Since you don't have backlinks enabled, I want to let you know that I referenced your site on Blogger Delights. Congrats!

Trée said...

Darnell, thanks for the kind words and the backlink. I am writing a mini blog story with audio and images to go with the story--all the images are my own creation and this is actually an image generated story, which is to say the image comes first and then the next chapter of the story. Work as been all consuming of late and the story has been on a bit of a hold, but soon I hope to pick it back up. Thanks for noticing the story.

Anonymous said...

It's really a beautiful frac, I'm glad you posted it :-D Never doubt your talents. That's an order LOL *HUGS*

Trée said...

Oh Karen, such sweet words. Thank you for lifting my spirits today. I wish I knew how to express how important just a few kinds words are. May only take a minute to type but the impact is far-reaching. Thanks for being such a positive person. I do sincerely appreciate the happiness you leave for me to read. :-)

Anonymous said...

You're very welcome, I'm just being honest ;-) I'm glad it makes you happy though, that makes me happy.

LMAO oh the pressure :0)

Tubey dear, I'm expecting big things now-LMAO. And there you were trying to lower expectations

well we shall see at midnight now won't we (insert evil laugh here LOL)and when I said I didn't have anything ready, I didn't but then inspiration struck and what can I say ROFL

Hope you are having a wonderful day darlin (hugs)

Trée said...

Karen, I always appreciate someone who values a "glass half full" view of life. Thanks for making my day brighter. :-)

Trée said...

Oooooh, the anticipation. Might need to stay up late for the midnight showing. Plenty of popcorn on this end. I say, "Bring it on!" LMAO

I like the reflection of the clouds in this one.

How long does it take on average to create an image?

Anonymous said...

ROFLMAO oh good lord, I've created a monster :0D

hope I don't get stage fright between now and then, or what if my computer breaks, or I get kidnapped by marauding cowboys oh the pressure LOL

Anonymous said...

(Aggie dances around like Snoopy)
"Make more! Make more!"

Trée said...

Chicky, it really depends. An image like the one here with only one central object doesn't take too long. Once you start adding objects and working on composition and in particular lighting, then the image could take several hours if not days depending on complexity.

Trée said...

Trace, we need to put a backup system in place for just such possibilities. You are getting too famous and well-known to allow a simple computer glitch to interrupt the expectations of your adoring fans. You have a reputation to uphold darlin'. Now git ur done. :-D

Trée said...

LMAO, Aggie, let me catch my breath from the workday. I'll see what I can do tonight. If I don't have anything new, I've got an image from Trebuchet I might post here that is rather interesting. Might do a little adjusting to it.

You know, I'd like to see that snoopy dance you do. :-)

I like that it's not centred. I don't particularly like symmetry, so this works really well for me. Nice!

Trée said...

Thanks Melly for your perspective. I usually like off-centered stuff. Not sure why I felt like this one needed to be centered but the more I look at it the more comfortable I am with it in a Wabi Sabi sort of way. :-)
