Hi Trée!It is very nice you have remebered this moment. In this time our look was directed far away from humanity to the space, now is directed more to the earth.
I'm not sure how the rest of the world felt when Armstrong set foot on the moon, but I cannot recall a time in the States of more national pride.
Always had mixed emotions about dividing the world into arbitary divisions, such as nation-states, but it did feel special to see the stars and strips on the moon.
I like to remember the way Armstrong choose to mark the moment: "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."
