Father and Son--a View

The power of view. The image above inspires--reminds me of a father or mother giving flight to their child, lifting them up into to the world to fly on their own.

The image below, simply rotated, has a completely different feel. I would call this one Pursuit, as it looks like the smaller object is fleeing from it's larger pursuer.

The power of view, from where we stand and how a simple angle can completely change how we see. Do you, my friend, know? Know from where you stand? Know how that angle of view colors everything you see?

This image is simply a zoomed in crop from Hynerian Snowflake. The idea of father and son or mother and child strikes a strong cord in me. I couldn't resist this one.

As always, click on the image to see the larger version. Peace.

Such great images, perspective is such an amazing thing, and sometimes just a change in angle is what we need, and makes all the difference.

Hope you are well and are having a fab thursday (hugs)

Thanks Trace. As Zeke might say, our eyes do deceive us. :-)

We operate with so many filters, and those filters color everything we see. The first challenge is just knowing which filters we are wearing. Most of the time we don't and so we operate from what I call "unskillful view" or one might say false view. From this false view, we tend to hurt a lot of people, especially those that are close to us.

Hope you are having a fab day too. :-)

That first part you wrote reminds me of a passage from 'Barn Burning' by Faulkner
"...the light years of his few years, just heavy enough to prevent his soaring free of the world as it seemed to be ordered but not heavy enough to keep him footed solid in it, to resist it and try to change the course of its events."
Unrelated, I know, perhaps it was the soaring free part that did it. (Relates more to the next part in fact.)
"lifting them up into the world to fly on their own." - beautifully expressed.
I could go on and on about perception, I won't :-D
This is a wonderful post, I like it so!!

I thought you might like this one Sunshine. I wasn't planning to write anything to go with the top image and almost as soon as I posted it, it occured to me if the image was reversed I would have a very different interpretation and thus this short little dual image post was born. :-)

Wouldn't it be amazing if we could possess the ability to see things from the angles of others?
Yes, our view is jaded - "filtered"...and so is everyone else's. It is the hardest thing I do; to pause and consider why one has said or done what they have. Often I realize they are flying or fleeing just the same as I.

Aggie, your wisdom intoxicates me. Can I put my head on your lap and just soak it all in? Mmm, just the thought . . . :-D

Yes. Yes you may. We might both learn a few things. ;P

Oooh, I think I just felt a tingle run down my spine. I think it was that second yes that did it. :-D

I like both perspectives and your interpretation. It makes you think of alternatives in life...

This is an amazing illustration of perspective. I'm going to link back to it when I do my blog entry on "empathy" tomorrow. These are definitely two images that are worth a thousand words (each!). Thanks!

I am new to blogging. I arrived at your blog by clicking the name as it scrolled by because I found the title very inviting. The picture is interesting, but yor take on it is great. The ability to see what is in front of us is common to all; the ability to imagine what could be is lost on so many. I'll keep checking in.
