If you like Rudy Stories

CBS ran an incredibly powerful story tonight that brings you to your feet and just keeps on giving each and every minute into it. Jason McElway, an autistic high school basketball team member in Rochester NY, served as the team manager and spirit coach for several years. On the final game of the season the coach let him finally put on a uniform with the rest of the team. Watch what happens then...

Autistic basketball player causes mayhem at game

Stories like this always bring tears of joy to my eyes. If he has his mother's spirit I'm sure he is a wonderful and loving soul. :-)

Trace, I was deeply moved by that young man. If I could travel through time I would like to be in that gym that night.

Saw the story - what a winner!

That kid was a winner long before he entered that game. Powerful stuff. :-)

You're welcome Deb. I received the link in an email and had actually deleted it before viewing. Something made me go back into my deleted folder and view the video. I call that something my guardian angel looking out for me. Glad you enjoyed it.

its just beautiful to witness success stories like that, or just the message that a little encouragement and faith in someone can be so magical and transforming in their life. its very hopeful and positive, and something we can all learn from.

This young soul's attitude is just superb. Inspiring. Everytime I watch the video I can see a look of love and a look of life in his eyes. It's contagious.

Watched this video so many times today, such a beautiful, loving boy - this post reminds me of the 'old days', your blog as I knew it first, inspirational, heartwarming, thought-provoking - several posts I wrote then were off the back of something you had posted.
Absolutely love the stuff you are doing now, and I saw by way of comments, we perhaps will be in for a continuance of the story (WooHoo!), but if you do come across something like this again, please do share - it is enough to plaster a permanent smile for, at present count, an entire morning :)

Sunshine, I am so glad this video had such a positive impact on you. I just love that kid to pieces and can't watch the video enough.

If I can get my brain to work with me I will attempt to post another chapter of the story again.

Sometimes I feel like I need five blogs--one for images, one for the story, one for motivational stuff, one for philosophical stuff and one for the cancer fighting team. Oh and one for some other save a horse kinda stuff. :-D

Hey Ms Music woman. How are you today? :-)

Do you have other blogs Sunshine? If so, I think it's time to share. :-)

who me ms musicwoman? you talkin to me? i'm going bananas trying to write ONE simple descriptive paragraph to put on a poster my friend is designing advertising my kid's california jazz quintet coming to town for 2 nights in march....i love to write but when you HAVE to write, and just put in just the essentials, and not blather on the way i usually do, its really a challenge...plus to get the right feeling across for the event and imagining who your target audience is...well, there's many elements to balance in the equation, and its making me bananas cuz i'm a perfectionist...as you know i can talk a blue streak, but for important stuff like this or my blog, i am immobilized....oh well, its coming along...the posters actually printed but we're doing a reprint in a few days, so i want it just right...
(well, you asked!) maybe i should email you once in a while, instead of this incessant blabbering that everyone and his mother gets to read. sorry everyone, i cant stop!
ps...lots of people have different blogs for different
subjects...tho i find i tend to click on the first one only, somehow thinking its the most important,
when that may, in fact, not be a logical conclusion...

Trée said...

Lisa, I know exactly how you feel--if that is possible. Good luck with the writing.

thanks, Tree! ya, it seems a simple task on the surface, but the smaller the article the more of a challenge to get it just right! another of life's illusions perhaps?

Music woman, that is so true. I help companies and individuals write mission and vision statements. Sometimes it takes several days to get to a single sentence that works.

artist/writer man, you DO??!!
so i could have consulted you
all this time, instead of taking
a week to write a paragraph??
but then, (sigh),
you're probably too
expensive for me...!
