One of the first sights my first day hiking. I'd driven through the night from Idaho, my hotel about 2.5 hours from the park. Elevation at the trailhead was about 7,000 feet and not more than a quarter mile into my hike, this was the sight I saw. Used a tripod and I believe my 100mm macro lens. I've never seen a pond or lake or any body of water as glass smooth as this and the reflection, as you can see, is nothing short of pristine. In fact, the mountain looks clearer and sharper in the reflection than thought the atmosphere.
I slightly adjusted the image in Photoshop using a Topaz simplify filter.
Sigh...I need to get the exact location of this sight...I could use a secluded vacation. However, I'm not sure I'd need a hotel, I could bath in the lake and sleep under the stars in that bed of wildflowers. Better get my head out of the clouds, or mountains as it may be, it ain't happening, not for awhile anyhow.
That experience had to have been breathtaking and unforgettable.
WFM! Stunning! The photograph is so breathtaking, I cannot imagine what it must have been like to witness such a scene in person. Making a promise to myself, right here, right now, that I will see this sight someday too. Thanks for showing it to us.
