364. Outtake #4: The Witch's Tit

“So here’s the plan. See that blue area, that’s where we land,” said John.

“Okay, but why do they call it the witch’s tit?” asked Rog.

“Because it be frailing cold. I don’t mean cold, cold, I mean frailing fraillity cold.”

“Whatever dude. So the plan is stealth. We slip in a backdoor so to speak.” Rog points to one of the dark lines on the holomap.

“Yep.”

“And this is going to work because?”

“Because no one knows we’re coming. No one. Complete surprise. We hit them before they know they’ve been hit.”

“I see.”

John folds his arms, leans back and smiles. “Damn right.”

Kyra sticks her head in the war room. “John, we’ve got an incoming message.”

Rog looks at John who looks a little less sure.

“It’s Tom. For you,” added Kyra.

Rog tries to withhold his signature quaidesque grin. “Steath, huh. No one knows we’re coming.”

John scrunches up his face.

“Just slip in and slip out. Hit them before they know they’ve been hit.”

“Alright, so we go to plan B.”

“What’s plan B?”

“That’s where I put my foot up your jackassary.”

Frailtastic image and accompanying name! Has a wonderful ring to it, best thing since Duckhead. :-D

Ah, bless 'em. Were there ever two more attractive and endearing men in the same room, come rain or shine, put the two of them in a room together and they are bound to leave anyone watching grinning at their antics and especially their dialogue. Such an easy relationship, though they had those days alone together when they were searching for Bravo and undoubtedly bonded over their shared worries of what lay ahead and what was waiting for them upon their return, they just seem to be on the same wavelength in many ways, similar in many ways, which is interesting in itself given they come from two different worlds. So easy to envision them together, sort of Goose and Maverick, only much, much better. Much! :-D

So easy to envision them, with them all we need is dialogue, and they become so clear and their voices are heard, quaidesque grins seen, even when trying to be withheld.

Excellent little chapter, enjoyed that immensely. And I just can't help it, the two of them in one room is enough to give me hot flashes. :-)

The dialogue between these two is so easy to write, it just flows effortlessly. Not only that, it is terribly fun to write.

By the way, if Dennis Quaid is not available to play Rog, I'm thinking of asking Patrick Dempsey. :-D

I take it you'll not complain. ;-)

Annie, I've got something to warm up that witch's tit. Might even cut a few diamonds in my spare time. :-D

Easy on the eyes is our Patrick. But you know how much I love Quaid, so I was thinking perhaps a cameo role as Rog's father, what do you think? :-D

Perfect. I'll tell Robert Duvall he's out. :-D

I am lost at this one...only know that somehow someone knows about their return...

I love the fractal though...that seems a bit complicated!

Mona, here is what is happening here:

Tranquility is returning to Kulmyk to rescue Dr X, which is the home of John (and Tom) and the place the crew fled from with their lives. John and Tom not only served together in the service but are very close and good friends. They both have children the same age (Tom Jr and Ariel). Tom has been given orders to destroy the Tranquility, which means in essence he has to killed John, Cait and Ariel. The crew's plan to rescue Dr X relies on stealth for success. In this scene we see that stealth is compromised as Tom and his command ship have found the Tranquility. What happens next is going to be interesting as Tom confronts John. Will blood be shed and if so, who's. Is it possible that Cait dies in the scenes to come, an accident as Tom and John talk, or maybe Ariel. Tom will want to board with a landing party. Armed men do strange things under pressure. So, stay tuned. Until it is written, anything can happen. :-)

Thanks for the kind words on the image. It is one of my favorites.

Steve, thanks for stopping by. Right now about the only thing going on is work. The Story, as you can see, is moving along as usual. :-)
