Her manner here could either be calmness in the face of fear carrying her through or resignation and resolution. The refusal either because she can't or she won't, my guess would be won't, that she is more angry than afraid. And more than likely there are many more emotions rattling about too.
Where are they going, who is not in the pit, what happened to Trev, on top of the chapter that went before, :-), in four parts we have one of the biggest cliffhangers yet.
I know what happened to Trev and I know where Cait is going and why. What happened to Rog and John and why they are not in that cell, I don't know. Kyra is not perfect. Perhaps she just got it wrong as to where she thought they were. Perhaps as she is looking into the darkness in the wrong cell, John and Rog are being led to their execution. I would love the see those two things juxtaposed on the screen. I imagine the look on their faces would not be all that different.

I voted Trev "alive". Of course, being alive gives a person hope, glad the majority (as of now), thinks alike.
