Terry, I've been practicing, the Von stare that is. I'll let you know if it works from the other end. :-D
Well, truth be known, my reference for this sketch looks a little different than how this turned out. So never fear, with practice and time, we might see some more Von's. :-)
Another talent to add to your long list! This is a great sketch. There is so much knowledge in that face. Are we going to get to see any other sketches as the story progresses? I've probably missed others before! Have I?
There are probably close to a dozen or more sketches and paintings that go with the story. Just click on the web album on my sidebar and you can see all the images used in the story so far.
Probably because I love the eyes best of all Chicky. We spend more time on those parts and pieces we like. Now, outside of the eyes, you should see . . . well, we'll leave that for another time. :-D
How nice it is to finally see an image of Von, been waiting. :-) Excellent work! Like the pose, suits him - he's still somewhat of a mystery, interesting though he is, one just knows there is much, much more to him. The hand hiding part of his face intensifies that impression. And what a hand that is :-) Nice, strong, lean, full of character...well, anyway, nice it sure is, nice, strong, noble nose too. He's a looker is our Von - I expected as much. :-) Wonderful sketch, poppet, truly, you've done a great job!!
Thank you Sunshine. Von is not quite as lean as this sketch appears and he usually is not quite as serious looking, although his humor tends toward the dry side. This sketch was done shortly after his confrontation with Calfuray, which might explain both the mood and gauntness. :-D
Liz, Von has that affect on people. Every line on his face tells a story and Von has been through a lot from capture at the hands of the Javalina's and their neural trace to his time on Dauculus with Zeke, not to mention all his other Zing Tao experiences. I think the two of you would get on fabulously. :-)

hmm - I feel naked under his gaze... not exactly how I had pictured him at all. Amazing sketch.

As always, Bean, thanks for the kind words. :-)
You have quite a talent for capturing the eyes!

Wow, that is a great sketch. What a face! I, too, would feel "naked under his gaze" but oh, would I want to dare to meet it. ;)
Thanks Oliviah. I'm sure Von would be very excited to meet you too. He is really quite the gentleman. :-)

Nicely done. Who is the model? Intense.

You'll never know how slow the moments go... :-)

Jenni, the reference for Von is: Max von Sydow.
Afternoon Betty. Hope you got all your packing done. Poppet says it's good to be missed. :-)
Tree,
That is incredible. His stare is most captivating. I could look at it for a very long time.
