Caitlin has such beautiful features, the eyes once again are outstanding. She has the most amazing eyes, and the expression she is wearing, I can't quite determine what it is, more than any other I think, she wears this one. I could fantasize and say that perhaps it is slightly guarded, that there's a little bit of hurt behind those eyes, but that is all it would be, fantasy, imagination.
Beautiful, I really like it, and it's definitely Cait. :-)

Thanks Sunshine. I worked all day to try and get the hair right and finally had to call it a day. Interesting take on her expression considering the image is in the mode of a mask. Is she angry, hurt, bitter, or terribly focused on making the most of the short time her and John have? Maybe it is a little bit of each. :-)

Scrolling down the page, I'm amazed anew. So many different images, all so very good in each their way.
This is some week in the history of DT! :-D

As for the hair, by design or not, the painting doesn't need hair. It makes perhaps more of an impact with all that colourful make-up and those piercing eyes without hair to detract from it.

Sweet dreams when you get that far, x

I'll say it again... it's all in the eyes and the magic you're creating here.

Trée said...

Thanks Chicky. I do enjoy doing the eyes most of all. :-)

Trée said...

Well, I've learned anew why I gave you the name Sunshine. :-)

Have I told you lately how much your comments brighten my day? I think piercing is a great way to describe Cait's eyes--she is very intense--just ask Disco after the night of the "playground." :-D

Contest: First one to correctly guess which actress was used as reference for this image.

Prize: assuming you would see it as such--LOL--your own personal sketch.

Autumn Storm said...

Morning, poppet. I think you did, but that thought makes me smile wide, so you may repeat it as often as you see fit. :-)

:-D Practically perfect couple, Cait and John, is how I see them, part of what makes them so appealing.

Cait's even more gorgeous this afternoon, can't wait to see Johnny. :) Have a great day ahead, x

Now there is one beautifully mesmerizing woman. She looks alive.

wow wow and did I mention wow, all of these are just fab my friend, you talent just keeps growing in leaps and bounds, its always so much fun to see where you will go next

Trée said...

Terry, I couldn't agree more with your assessment. I fall more deeply into this image the more I look (or is that stare) into her eyes. I can see why Disco didn't want to leave. :-D

Trée said...

Hey Tube. See what you miss when you go away. :-D

As always, thanks for the very kind words.

Trée said...

Me too Betty. Where is our Johnny? Have you seen him? :-D

Trée said...

Oh, and Ter, she is, in my mind. :-)

tsduff said...

:-) That is why your characters all come across so vividly. You just describe for us what you see.

Autumn Storm said...

No, but I did spot someone who looked alot like him. :-D

Trée said...

Thanks Steve. I wish I could tell you I know exactly how I do it, knock on wood. My only explanation is I love doing eyes and I love my characters and perhaps the combination of the two creates the image with a bit of magic. :-)

Trée said...

Thanks Meg. I do love the story and the characters. When I look back on all the images and all the chapters and all the links and categories and labels and the web album and the audio, I think--shiott that was a lot of work.

Yet, not once, have I ever felt a single solitary bit of "the story" has been work. It actually energizes me and after a post I feel more alive--regardless of how long it took--than when I started. My way, I think, of touching joy, which about six years ago I said I would do each and every day of the rest of my life--find something, no matter how small, that made me smile, made me thankful, that put joy in my life, and I would make sure that I touched that element daily. This story is a very, very big part of the joy in my life. And comments like yours are too. :-)

Oh Oh. She's beautiful and I'm going to guess, I swear I will. I have to go to work now though :( I'll be back the very second my morning shift is done.

Trée said...

Bean, sending good luck your way. Take your time. :-)

And thanks for the sweet kind words. I'm sure Cait would be pleased. :-)

Let me quess - she's wearing make-up to hide the bags under her eyes ;)

Seriously, all these sketches/paintings are really good, Tree. Do you have particular models in mind when you do them or are these more free-form?

Trée said...

Jack, I always work from a reference, which I treat as if the model was posing. With a reference in hand, I begin the first of many drafts of a sketch. I DO NOT trace from the reference, but sketch free-hand on my Wacom tablet. Usually takes me three to four versions of a sketch before I feel like I have the proportions down right or at least close enough.

I'm running a contest right now to see if anyone can guess who the model (actress) was for Cait. I think it is going to be a tough one to guess because the photo I used for this actress doesn't give you her traditional look.

As always, your kind words are appreciated Jack.

yumen said...

Hi Tree, I wonder if I might hazard a guess? The forehead and the cheeks took me straight into Demi Moore. The eyes are another colour and the lips a little fuller (Cait's lips), but there is a glimpse of the Moore girl in there.
Having said that, a look at Cait with hair (you were right to give up on that one by the way!), takes the likeness away.

Trée said...

Yumen, Demi Moore is a good guess, not the actress I used, but still a good guess. I can see where you could see her likeness here.

For those trying to hazard a guess, the original sketch, with the dubious hair, is posted on Trebuchet. The hair may either help or hinder your guess, but it does give a bit more information and gives the face context.

By the way, Yuman, you are entitled to more than just one guess if you so choose. :-)

Autumn Storm said...

Dream sweet. :-)

*sigh* I've been thinking and thinking but all I can come up with is Sharon Stone. I'll keep guessing though!

Keshi said...

Caitlin looks very serious.

Keshi.

Trée said...

Bean, Sharon Stone is an excellent guess and one I would have made myself. Its not Sharon, but you are warm. Let me know if you want a hint or two. :-)

Trée said...

Keshi, I would say intense and focused. :-D

Karen said...

You have quite a way of having the eyes pull me in. Awesome!!

Trée said...

Thanks Karen. I really wish I knew how I was doing it. Knock on wood that I don't lose that touch. I do love the eyes most of all. :-)

Karen said...

It's definitely your time to shine.

Trée said...

Aww, you're making Jack blush now. :-)

Karen said...

Just telling it like it is :-) You're an inspiration and never hide your light under a bushel, as they say.

Trée said...

Thank you Karen. One day at a time, I try. Now Jack, he likes to try every day. :-D

Tea Leoni! I never gave up!

Most excellent Bean! You got it. :-)

Well done, Bean! :-)

Wow! She's HAWT!
This image made me think of a song lyric from Justin Timberlake's new album:
"Don't need no Maybelline, 'cause you're a beauty queen; don't need no Loreal, 'cause bitch you're bad as hell"

Sorry, that is kind of a silly lyric, but she's just gorgeous, and that is the first thing I thought of. :) (hugs!)

Trée said...

BBB, those are might nice words there. :-)

I kinda like Cait too. I think Disco would say she's hawt too. :-D

As always, thanks for the very kind words.
