323. No Echo

Kyra opened the door. Darkness looked back.

She called into the pit. There was no echo.

She looked at Von, "They're not here."

If there is no echo someone is in there! If it was empty, her voice would have echoed back...
They simply do not answer her....

hey, but then logic defies the purpose here does it not...

If there is logic in my story I want it out--now! :-)

Most probably there is not...I was thinking of analysing logically, but then that would have defeated the purpose of the sci fi which is truly an imaginative world.
Not that the imagination is in any sense lesser..in fact it is dreams that have wrought what we see as real around us today.Guess that is how robots and spacecrafts are invented.:D

if there is no echo froma pit, it is either not a pit, or is not empty.

Or maybe the walls are of such an acoustic material that they absorb all sound. One would expect an echo. Since condemned men are kept here, perhaps the designers of the cell or pit purposefully created the non-echo effect to disconcert the prisoner, to help break down their resistance to death in the morning. Perhaps. :-D

Thank you Sunshine. :-)

LOL! Okay okay...You would know better about the pit, as you would about the red clad judge,as I would about the red clad bride, which you wouldn't know because you have white clad,so I guess in some twisted logical sense that could be quite possible.
Now all we have left to do is to untwist...

Twist, untwist, twist, untwist. I can do this. Want to do it with me? :-D
