a pebble tossed

a pebble tossed
a clear day
a cold lake

no skip
just a drop
a plop

falling
sinking
quietly

to join
the others
pebbles all

once tossed
by lovers
loveless

this seabed
of hearts
forever silenced

under glass
blue
as the sky

  1. Too silent, too long. Thank you for resurfacing! Lovers loveless, indeed.

  2. Oh Lime, if I were a fireplace, you'd be the wood. :-)

  3. Come on, baby, light my fire . . to coin a phrase. I was concerned and sad . . glad you're back on. Just home from the 2 hour massage. She beat the holy hell out of me. I feel GOOD! I'm so glad you're back. I kept going to the well . . .

  5. Magnificent poem! Full of whispers, suggestive and expressive, it could so it seems support several proposals regarding meaning. Beautiful language, lovers loveless...
