Two minutes to heat water in my microwave
to brew a pint of tea for five minutes
to savor the fruit of a foreign land
and ponder those two minutes
waiting for the water to heat
watching a tiny digital clock
click away the seconds
and as I stand there
watching slippery seconds
it occurs to me
that those are
my seconds
my life
ticking
away
at least we are 'going' somewhere :) ( to that cup of tea)
