75. Helix Point

Em reached into her snoozel skin satchel like a Cheshire cat. “Rog, check this out.”

“Whoa, sweet pea, did you do this?”

“Well, I had a lot of time on those long sea voyages and dad was all for tutoring in the fine arts. What do you think?”

Rog was stunned. Em had never before talked about her painting. “I don’t know what to say. I’ve often seen pictures of Helix Point, but I have to say this rendition is the most gorgeous thing I’ve ever seen. I can’t imagine what this looked like in person,” said Rog.

“Oh Rog, to be on the open sea at night, the southern winds in your hair and the Great Helix setting on the pure crystalline waters just outside of the Nusian peninsula. Oh babe, it just doesn’t get much better than that. Mom always kidded dad about having a mistress. After Helix Point, I knew.”

Rog sat stunned. Having grown up on his father’s ranch he and his brothers had often dreamed of mighty voyages on the open sea. Picture books were about as close as they thought they would ever get.

“Emy, dear, you’ve seen things I only dreamed about as a boy. Do you have more?”

“Back on board, Rog, I’ve got my whole collection. Would you like to see them?”

Paging Commander Rog. Paging Commander Rog. Man your vessel. All indications for an opening imminent.

“That’s it Em, grab your stuff! We 'bout to make things happen darlin’. Snazzle, prepare for launch.”

  2. wow. Ethereal and unlike anything I've even imagined... the Great Helix is utterly fabulous! What a great idea, having someone else's art to oohh and ahh over. This is so cool in every way, with the waters, the sparkling bodies in the sky... and, it does look like a captured memory of a real place. I love it.

  3. Thanks Terry. I had a ton of fun creating this image. Learned a few new things in Vue and was able to tap into Emy's personality just a bit more.

Now that we know there is an artist on board Bravo-Four-Zero, and she has her whole collection with her, I think we need to see more of her work. :-D

  7. Thanks sweetie. I think I just did an audio post for this one. I say think, because I pressed the wrong button at the end and I may have lost the recording. If it doesn't show in the next minute or two I'll redo it. I'm so glad you liked this one. This is the first image I've manipulated this much in photoshop.

  8. Excited to see more from Emy and Rog, big wet of appetite to know more about them with these two posts. As I just wrote on Trebuchet, it must be such a wonderful feeling to start from nothing and create such an image as this - came across in this commentary.
Sooo pleased to see the story back, the wait was worth it - each builds on the one proceeding and it really does just get better and better and better and better!
    Can't wait for tomorrow ;)
    Dream sweet, x

  12. Hey Tube. Thanks for the morning salutations. One day at a time my dear. As Sunshine once quoted, "Mountains are climbed the same way as hills, one step at a time."

Hope you have a good and productive day sweetie.
