The Enemy Within

I have seen the enemy. Just needed to look in the mirror of my mind. I think we're going to be friends.

  1. After a long day of travel, three airports, two planes and the wonder of my iPod, I have arrived home exhausted but victorious in maintaining my sanity. Thanks so much for everyone who has dropped by over the last few days. It's good to be home.

  14. Didn't mean for the name change, that was just how it hit me. But thank you for the change. It was many long years before I found out about, The Enemy within, and why.

  15. djb, I was so anxious to get something up as soon as I got home I didn't put much thought into the title. When I saw your recommendation I knew it was perfect for what I was trying to say.

I have to remind myself often that although my mind is a part of me, it's not the whole of me. I see it as a tool, something to use when I need it and something to ignore when it turns against me, but I always try to remember I'm in charge, not my mind and the random thoughts, directions and paths it wants to habitually, many non-productive, lead me down. Just a touch of awareness from my higher self and I can put the mind back in it's proper place--a good first lieutentant, but certainly not the general in charge.
