625. Read

Under his door
she slipped a note
a single sheet
a single word

Read

He poured the letters
from a cup
thought empty
his tongue upon the rain
his heart as thunder

The curve
in an R
looking upon
the curve
in the d

Electro shock
from death
to life
the power
not of word
not of noun
not of tomorrow or later
or maybe
but of verb
of now
direct
clean water
fresh air
truth pure

he gathered his poems
his shirt unbuttoned
his hair inverse lightning
and ran
to

  1. as so the scene begins with Em slipping the note and walking away with a smile

and ends with Trev running out the door, half dressed

    running to (not from)

    imagine her door opening

    imagine the smiles

    the arms

    the embrace

    the tears

    the love in a hug

    the lifting

    and swings

    swinging

    the snoopy dancing

    and he stands

    the cosmos as his backdrop

    letters in hand

and he looks from paper to her

    and reads

    that is the scene

    as I see it

  2. I wonder what that R looks like. How she penned it. How smooth and looping the curve. How graceful and feminine. How full and pregnant the motion. How it takes command and grabs attention--in charge that R. Like a finger motioning come hither. Stroke broad. Elegant. Vibrant. Bold. I want to see that R. I want to see the hand that can write such a letter. I want to see the eyes that drew. I want to dive into that ocean, into the R and swim my way to the d. That's what I want for Christmas. :-D

  3. I guess it must be like the curve of a roller coaster slide, a little upturned at the end...& the curve in the d is the obvious soft swelling curve :-D

Yea, verb , movement, flow, always fresh, never stagnant!

You are like a blogging Santa
    Bringing gifts
    Spreading joy

  6. Mona, there is no shape I love more than the curve. I dream in curves and my imagination runs on them like the roller coaster you alluded. Always moving. Come flow with me. :-D

  8. Merry Christmas to you and your's my dearest Tr'ee.

I know all about the curves of letters. I love writing in Calligraphy. The feeling I get from forming such beautiful letters with my pen and ink is difficult to put into words. There is a beauty to it that goes beyond words. Take my hand and I will show you...

Thank You for this beautiful chapter. It was beyond surprising!
    Hugs,
    Kimmie

  9. Kimmie, as you know, there is great beauty in a curve and in the hand that can create a curve. Nothing quite like beautiful handwriting. And I always notice handwriting. :-D

    Apparently, so does Trev. :-D

  10. Herein lies the beauty of language, they say a picture can speak a thousand words, likewise I would add though undoubtedly someone has said it before I, a word can expose a thousand images. Here is one such, except the one that I am thinking mainly of is not Read, but curve, in the intonation of curve the R was inscribed upon the page, not leading into but touching nonetheless a flourish of an E, a neat and near print perfect A and a D the most practised of calligraphists would be proud to call their own, in that one word, the note was written and was read, both scenes occurring simultaneously as though on a slit screen, the fall of hair, the way hands held paper, written and read and written again across his face in a manner of speaking. Curve, I must admit too, has more images now than it had before, after its several features in your chapters. Wonderfully done is the change, pace to match the pace within Trev, and the final scene of him running to her, for all that he has done, no doubt his legs have not moved faster than this time. Gorgeous, these last couple have been absolutely gorgeous, heart-warming and very special.
